*EVADING ARREST SINCE 19 YEARS HARDCORE ABSCONDER HELD BY DODA POLICE*

Doda, Jan-14,2025.

Continuing its special drive against wanted criminals and absconders Doda Police has arrested absconder who was evading arrest from more than 19 years.

While giving details *SSP Doda Sh Sandeep Mehta JKPS* said that absconder namely Asif Ali S/o Mohd Shafi R/o Bimna colony Srinagar A/P Bandipura Kashmir was arrested in case FIR No. 203/2004 U/S 279/337 RPC of Police Station Doda. After completion of investigation of the case, challan was produced in the court of law. The accused person was declared as absconder and warrant of arrest under section 299 Cr. PC was issued against him by the Hon'ble court of CJM Doda on 13-09-2005. Multiple attempts were made by Police to arrest him but every time he used to give a slip to the cops and was not appearing before the Police. Finally On the directions of SSP Doda, a police team was constituted from PS Doda under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Doda led by Inspector Parvaiz Ahmed Khnday SHO PS Doda. The Police team so constituted, during search utilized human and technical services and ultimately after hectic efforts the team arrested the absconder from Bandipura area, brought him at Doda and produced him before the court of law. Mentionable here that, special drive has been launched by Doda Police against the absconders and hard core criminals and as of now in last two months nine Absconders have been arrested and produced before the court of law.

Shafiqa Begum Becomes First Female Principal from Bhalesa

Shafiqa Begum has made history as the first woman from Bhalesa to take on the role of Principal at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Chilly Bhalesa, her hometown. Previously serving as a lecturer at GHSS Kilothran Bhalesa in Doda, she has now been promoted to Incharge Principal.

A proud local, Shafiqa is deeply committed to improving education in this remote region, known for its high literacy rate but also plagued by student dropouts. Her leadership vision centers on identifying and reintegrating dropouts into the education system by working closely with the community.

Shafiqa’s new role promises to empower the local population, particularly young girls who often abandon their studies before completing their higher secondary education. By inspiring students to overcome challenges and aim higher, she is set to become a transformative figure in Bhalesa’s education landscape, fostering progress and ambition in the region.

“Educating a girl means uplifting an entire community,” Shafiqa Begum believes and she’s leading by example.

*BOOTLEGGER HELD WITH ILLICIT LIQUOR IN DODA*

Jan, 09-2025.

Doda Police has apprehended one bootlegger with huge quantity of illicit liquor from his possession in Doda.

Giving details Doda Police said that a Police party of Police Station Doda led by SHO PS Doda Sh Parvaiz Ahmed Khanday was on routine patrolling in Akramabad area of Doda city. At about 06:30 hrs in the morning, during patrolling apprehended one person namely Sanjay Rana S/O Shamsher Singh Rana R/O Drummri Mohalla Doda who was coming from Dromuri Mohalla towards Akramabad and carrying a bag. During his search 80 bottels of 375 Ml of JK Special Whiskey was recovered from his possession. in this connection a case FIR No. 07/2025 US 48 (a) Excise act stands registered at PS Doda and investigation of the case has been started.

Doda police has launched special drive1against bootleggers /drug smugglers to eradicate the menace of drug peddling, manufacturing/ selling of illicit liquor, bovine smuggling from the District. *SSP Doda Sh Sandeep Kumar JKPS* has appealing the general public to cooperate with Police and provide information/ inputs if any drug smuggling /selling of illicit liquor /bovine smuggling or any kind of criminal activity is noticed in their neighborhood, so that timely action could be taken.
