DC Ganderbal chairs meeting on critical infra in the district

GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 27: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir, today chaired a high-level meeting here to deliberate on the construction and upgradation of strategic roads in the district, with a focus on areas of high security importance.

The meeting held a detailed discussion regarding the condition of existing strategic roads, particularly those leading to vital security establishments, and the feasibility of constructing new roads to improve connectivity in these areas.

The meeting also reviewed the current status of mobile connectivity in remote and inaccessible parts of the district.

Heads of various security agencies apprised the DC of the road conditions and mobile network pe*******on near their establishments. They emphasized the need for both enhanced road infrastructure and better mobile connectivity to strengthen communication in critical areas.

The DC directed the R&B Department to conduct ground surveys of the identified roads and prepare a tentative proposal for their construction and upgradation.

In addressing concerns about poor mobile connectivity, Shyambir instructed the Sub-Divisional Engineer (SDE) of BSNL to take immediate measures to upgrade the mobile network in areas with weak or no connectivity.

Interacting with the officers in the meeting, the DC underscored the district administration's commitment to ensuring better infrastructure and communication facilities in remote and strategically significant areas of Ganderbal.

The meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, Ragav S; Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Gulzar Ahmad; DFO Sindh Forest Division, SDE BSNL and officers from security forces.

KU postpones all Postpones Examinations scheduled for Dec 28

Srinagar, Dec 27: Amid ongoing inclement weather conditions, including heavy snowfall in Kashmir parts, University of Kashmir postponed all examinations scheduled for December 28, 2024.

In a notification issued by the university's Assistant Controller of Examinations reads, In view of the inclement weather condition, all examinations of University of Kashmir scheduled to be held on 28.12.2024 stand postponed.

It further stated that, fresh dates for the postponed papers shall be notified separately, it reads.

GANDERBAL, DECEMBER 27: In light of the ongoing inclement weather conditions, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir, conducted an intensive visit today to the District Control Room and District Hospital Ganderbal to assess the preparedness and ensure essential services remain uninterrupted.
During his visit to the District Control Room, the DC instructed the Incharge to maintain round-the-clock operations. He emphasized that any distress calls related to breakdowns in essential services must be promptly addressed by the concerned departments. Upon inquiry, it was reported that no such calls had been received thus far.
The DC later inspected the District Hospital Ganderbal to review the availability of medical facilities and readiness to handle emergencies. He directed the Medical Superintendent to ensure that all health institutions across the district remain prepared to deal with any exigencies arising from the current weather situation.
Additionally, the DC has directed all line departments and Tehsildars to remain vigilant in their respective areas, with a mandate to address public grievances promptly. The District Administration has already put necessary measures in place to provide essential services to the public.
The R&B and Mechanical Engineering Departments have been directed to keep men and machinery in a state of readiness to deal with snow accumulation or other weather-related challenges.
The DC assured the public that all efforts are being made to mitigate any disruptions caused by the adverse weather conditions.
