Ok guys here’s much awaited New Year Iteniary , unlike last year I have increased a day covering two cities , two 4 star heritage stays and including everything in it.

Day 1 30th dec : Arrive at Jodhpur move to Garh chosen for stay , the Garh lies in the outskirts in a picture postcard setting.

Afternoon spend at craft centre where we see rural women working on colourful threads and shop all memorabilia like bands, scarfs, postcards, jewellery boxes very unique to this area.

Evening around 4 ol head to watch Rajasthan best kept winter secret - the migratory demoseille cranes. They are a phenomena and no trip to this area is complete without this watch. I’ll tell u interesting stories about it.

Late evening: Garh will prepare barbecue for us as we unwind over old monks and cocktails in a starry setting s wrapped in blankets.

31st dec day 2 : we take an early Morning start to Barmer , the unexplored treasure of Rajasthan with unending desert vistas and and least population.

On way a president awardee block printer completes this part of road trip as we understand how jodhpur prints come alive , oh yes u can again shop something as I much over mirchi bada of this village .

The stay at Barmer is very special , a palace set amidst dunes we check in and await for new year party

As we dress up and show up unlike Metro crowd the venue has set up a great cosy musical night and amazing meals with Laal Maas for its guests along with a huge pool table. Those who are brave can take a swim in its cold water too.

Evening is left for merriment as we close 2017 with a bang.

1st Jan - Day 3 we start our day by making a visit to the startling kiradu temple ruins 30 km off Barmer . You go in awe with the setting and architecture.

We make a quick stop for a dhaba lunch complete lehsun chutney et all.

Post reaching jodhpur , if time permits we make a quick stop at the mighty Mehrangarh Fort, I’ll also take to a very very secret hole in wall shop which serves the best fruit cream on this earth ( yes a Michelin chef shared this too )

We board our train/ flight back from Jodhpur to respective places .

Trip includes all meals , barbeque dinner, new year gala, new year dinner ( it’s compulsory yeah hotels make me mad on New Years ) all transportation, heritage visits, pick and drop to stations and much more.

Ok I also need confirmations way too soon else I’ll have to close the trip as the hotels I have chosen have limited open inventory due to new year so yes pls save up for the trip and say a YES to me and I’ll make it superb for you.

Cake Mixing Ceremony At ITC Rajputana - Jaipur

ITC Rajputana ( & ) always follow the tradition to make any occasion grand. Christmas Cake Mixing Rituals is celebrated with quite a fanfare.

It is the time of the year when we usher in the festive moments of Christmas with the annual Christmas Cake Mixing Ceremony.

The Story of Cake Mixing Ceremony:
Cake Mixing for Christmas began during the Harvest season, which is roughly two months prior to Christmas. During this time of the year, different types of nuts and fruits were available which had to be preserved for future use. One among the several ways to soak them in whatever liquor was available at home. This was done in order to increase the shelf life of these nuts and fruits so that these can be eaten for the next year till another harvest comes.

For cakes, these nuts and fruits were left to soak, for a period of time along with a generous amount of honey and spices like ginger, mace, nutmeg, cardamoms, etc.

Cake Mixing Ceremony at Home - Mix some dried fruits like cashew, raisins, sultanas, almond, black currant, apricot, fig and orange peel with groud ground spices like cinnamon, clove, mace, nutmeg and cardamom. Soak them in your choice of liquor, like brandy, whiskey, rum, or vodka. Let them in a cool dry place for at least 15 days before you start baking with them.
