Acting on credible intelligence and a crucial tip-off from Singtam Police Station, Temi Police Station successfully conducted a raid at Dalep, Namchi District, leading to the seizure of a commercial quantity of contraband and controlled substances.

The recovery was made from a rented room occupied by Priya Rai (24). Following the operation, a case has been registered at Temi Police Station under the relevant sections of the Sikkim Anti-Drugs Act.

This decisive action underscores Namchi District Police’s unwavering commitment to combat the drug menace and reinforce strict enforcement against illegal narcotics in the region.

🥇🔥 GOLD AGAIN — MAKING HISTORY 🔥🥇

The GOLD medal at the 9th Elite Women’s National Boxing Championships 2025, held in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, from 4th–10th January 2026.

With this victory, I have secured my 10th Senior National Champion title, officially setting a record in Indian women’s boxing history.
My previous national gold medals came in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018, 2021, 2023, and 2024.

A powerful start to the 2026 playing year—and this gold carries special significance:

1️⃣ Automatic selection in the 80kg category for the Asian Championships, beginning 28 March in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, as per BFI Selection Policy 2026
2️⃣ Entry into the Asian Championships as the #1 seed in 80kg, supported by 900 ranking points earned in 2025
3️⃣ A strong foundation for the 2026 World Cup Finals, with automatic qualification in the 80kg category, secured through the same 900 ranking points, in line with World Boxing World Cup Finals policy

The De-suung Skilling Programme (DSP) and Pemako Hotels, Bhutan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 9 January 2026, marking an important step toward creating internship and employment opportunities for De-suups trained in culinary arts and hospitality.

Through this collaboration, De-suups will receive on-the-job training, professional mentorship, and clear pathways to employment at Pemako properties in Thimphu and Punakha. The partnership reflects a strong public–private collaboration, supporting the development of a skilled, confident, and self-reliant workforce while contributing to the growth of Bhutan’s hospitality sector.

Reports Claim Indian Idol-3 Winner Prashant Tamang Passes Away at 43

New Delhi, Jan 11: on Sunday claimed that Prashant Tamang, winner of Indian Idol Season 3, passed away suddenly at the age of 43, sending shockwaves across the country and deeply affecting fans, fellow artists, and the Gorkha community.

According to sources cited in the reports, Tamang was declared dead at a hospital in Dwarka, New Delhi, around 9:00 am. He had reportedly returned from a live performance in Arunachal Pradesh only hours earlier. Preliminary information suggests a possible cardiac arrest, though no official medical confirmation has been issued at the time of filing this report.

Born on January 4, 1983, in Darjeeling, Prashant Tamang rose to national fame after winning Indian Idol in 2007. His journey from serving as a constable in the Kolkata Police to becoming a household name was widely celebrated and became a moment of pride for the Gorkha and Nepali-speaking communities across the world.

Beyond his music career, Tamang also worked in Nepali cinema and recently appeared in the second season of the web series Paatal Lok, marking his growing presence in mainstream Indian entertainment.
