Aug 11, Itanagar: Post a week long search, the CRPF rescue team stated in a press release that body parts of the passengers were spotted from the crash site.

The debris of the missing Pawan Hans chopper was located in deep and narrow valleys of the area of Pongkang in Tirap district. The press release from the CRPF said that debris and mutilated body parts of the passengers were spotted from the site.

Aug 10, New Delhi: The debris of Pawan Hans helicopter, which went missing after its take off on August 4, has been spotted in Arunachal Pradesh’s Tirap district by the IAF aerial search team this morning.

Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju informed that the Air Force has confirmed that the wreckage of the missing helicopter has been found 12 km south of Khonsa, the headquarters of Tirap district.

While the demand for Inner Line Permit (ILP) continues in Manipur, a video showing a Nepali woman being beaten up by a Meitei women is creating much outrage. The woman who seems a bit aged is accused of drinking alcohol and is beaten mercilessly and humiliated by chopping off her hair even mangling her ear in the process. The video shows an extreme case of human rights violation especially indicative of vendetta against ‘Non-Manipuris’ who are derogatorily called “Mayang T**yangs” in Manipur.

In light of this incident, a 4th generation Manipuri Gorkha writes on how they are as much Manipuris as Meiteis.

The chopper had gone missing at around 11:30 am owing to bad weather conditions.
