Wild elephant attack man at Nowbangha Nalla under Banderdewa Circle. Injured person admitted at TRIHMS.
BANDERDEWA, DEC 16 : A wild elephant has attacked a locals who was in search of his mithun in jungles in Nowbangha area near Pichola in Banderdewa circle. The injured person has been admited at TRIHMS. Informed Naharlagun SP Mihin Gambo.
SP Gambo said that "at around 2:30 pm today Monday a local youth was seriously injured after being attacked by a wild elephant (Makhna) at Nowbangha Nalla, approximately 7 km from Banderdewa Police Station. The victim had entered the forest to check on his Mithuns when he was suddenly attacked by the elephant.
Upon receiving information, a police team led by Shri Kipa Hamak, OC, Banderdewa Police Station, ASI KB Singh, along with local residents, immediately rushed to the spot. The injured youth, identified as Chukhu Obi (22 years), son of Lt. Chukhu Taba and a resident of Dobam Village in Banderdewa Circle, was rescued from the forest and evacuated in a police vehicle to TRIHMS for urgent medical treatment.
The quick action of the police and local community ensured the victim received timely medical attention at TRIHMS.
