Poppy Plantation Drive at Kangpokpi - 19.12.2024

1. Three Days of Poppy destruction were Undertaken on 17.12.2024, 18.12.2024, and 19.12.2024 in the villages around IT Road, Kangpokpi. Shri. Tholu Rocky, MPS, Addl SP(LO), led the joint team comprising Civil Police, CRPF, Forest Personnel, and Executive Magistrate.

2. The team destroyed 63 acres of poppy plantation viz. 20 acres in Langka, 18 Acres in Bileijang and 25 Acres in Makui.

3. FIR has been registered and efforts are on to identify and book the cultivators.

Ukhrul Districtta Tharamba Poppy Lam Acres 70 Yanthatuna Manghankhre.
On 16.12.2024, joint team of Manipur Police, Forest Department and Assam Rifles conducted poppy destruction at Phalee, Tora & Champhung villages under Lungchong Maiphei (LM) PS, Ukhrul District. Approx. 70 acres of poppy plantation was destroyed and 13 huts found in the fields were burned down. An FIR has been registered and efforts are being made to identify the culprits.

Following the killing of two non-locals at Keirak by unknown armed miscreants on 14.12.2024, operations were conducted on a large scale at various suspected area. During one such operation, on 16.12.2024, Manipur Police arrested an active cadre of the KCP (PWG) namely Irengbam Rameshwar Singh (48) from Kakching Lamkhai area under Kakching PS, Kakching District. Further, from his disclosure, Police team searched a camp located at the Kakching Mamang Ching Laipham Loknung area and arrested the following 07 (seven) cadres of KCP (PWG) on the spot. They were identified as:
i.Elangabm Herojit Singh (40).
ii.Heikrujam Prem (28)
iii.Okram Arundatta (30).
iv.Senjam Rebingson (27).
v.Okram Amarjit (31).
vi.Aribam Ghanendrajit Sharma (25).
vii.Chongtham Rajkumar (26).

The following items were recovered from the said camp.
i.01(one) 7.65 Pistol along with magazine,
ii.01(one) Country made 9mm Pistol along with magazine,
iii.01(one) .32 Pistol along with magazine,
iv.01(one) Country Made 7.62 Sniper Rifle along with magazine,
v.02(two) nos. of DBBL Guns,
vi.02(two) nos. of SBBL Guns,
vii.03(three) nos. of HE Gr***de along with one detonator,
viii.19(nineteen) nos. of Live Round Ammunitions,
ix.02(two) nos. of Empty Cartridges,
x.02 (two) nos. of Baofeng handset along with two chargers,
xi.10(ten) nos. of mobile handsets,
xii.01(one) two-wheeler vehicle without registration no. and others miscellaneous items.
