The curriculum in today’s era is ever expanding. Teachers feel as if they don’t have the time to encourage their students to express their feelings & educational experiences, on the other hand they complain that the students are not good at writing independently. In such a scenario, I feel this students chronicle will certainly bridge the gap & ignite the imagination power in kids to write freely

about anything by sharing their learning which can also be called “reflective writing”. This journal can also be a good resource for students to build their Critical thinking & reading skills level. The purpose of journal writing is for understanding & supporting the development of thinking. It can be said that Journaling charges curiosity as it can integrate students into their courses by sharing the best practices. The multi-grade content will certainly help the students in closing the “achievement gap”. We are living in an age of “accelerating change”. This chronicle will certainly take the students & teachers forward and shall provide a perfect platform to challenge the process of student learning. Children learning is not restricted from bell to bell. Children learn about 30% in the formal school spaces, wherein most of their learning happens outside the classroom through “informal means”. This journal could be one of them, like to provide the kids an opportunity to excel on their own with “minimum teacher intervention”. Any level of student right from Pre-K to P.G can write for this journal. This journal can become an important aspect in a student’s life. Journal writing is an effective teaching strategy to meet the educational goals. This can be used to highlight social issues as well. Kids who feel that they can write freely can create their own written material/ literature. The purpose of a student’s journal should be to get the kids think “out of the box” by encouraging creative thinking. And once you get used to journalism, you will find it easier to organize your thoughts & think more creatively. There can be a whole lot of journalism ideas like 1. If you win a lottery, what will you do? 2. Why do you think some people don’t excise their right to vote? 3. My first grade memories 5. The cartoon I like the most & why. 6. My Grandparents 9. How it feels to win or lose something/ someone 10. Describe Sundays at your house. 11. How do you keep your teachers happy? 12. Why I use a particular brand. Even non-writers can journal through “drawings” & young students too can illustrate their responses as the journal is a safe place to try new ideas & is not restricted to a particular school. So this will have “more benefits” as the idea is to learn the best practises happening in different schools. We are living in a “Facebook era”, which promotes sharing. In contradiction to this, many of our school practices are a continuation of “Victorian era”. So, I hope this journal will accelerate the change. Lastly, I hope that this encourages the children not only to subscribe but also share their ideas & learning.
