Tensions flared at Palamuru University as students staged a sit-in protest in front of the university gate, expressing strong discontent over the poor quality of food being served on campus.

Carrying plates of cooked rice, students held a symbolic dharna, demanding accountability for the substandard meals, which they say do not match the menu and lack basic quality and nutrition.

The protestors criticized the state government for failing to ensure proper facilities for underprivileged students who rely on university-provided food and accommodations.

Students also raised concerns about the Vice-Chancellor and hostel warden, accusing them of turning a blind eye to repeated complaints and showing complete indifference to the students' welfare.

The agitation reflects growing frustration among students about the neglect of basic amenities in government-run educational institutions.

Authorities have yet to respond formally to the students’ demands. Tensions remain high on campus.
