Directorial debut by Sajimon Prabhakar, Malayankunju is a survival thriller based on a real landslide that took place in high ranges of Kerela in 2019. The aftermath of the tragedy is brilliantly showcased by Fahadh Faasil’s role as a person who got stuck under the ground and manages to rescue himself because of the baby whose sound he hated the most at the start of the film. To add another layer of intricacy, A.R. Rahman’s comeback to the Malayalam industry after 30 years makes this movie extra special for Mollywood. The background score provided by him is unsettling at first but helps with the feeling of claustrophobia that makes the audience feel the same emotions as our actor.



The backdrop in which the movie is set allows the audience to empathize with the character of Anikuttan. A person who has failed in life and struggles to be around others realizes the importance of society when actually faced with silence.



As the VFX studio for the film, the main challenge was to make the audience feel and live the claustrophobia along with the character. The confined space of the set made it quiet challenging to establish the helplessness of the character. A natural calamity including set destruction and underwater sequences makes it a roller coaster ride to work on.

An initiative by Film and Television Institute of India Pune, we are delighted in having young and bright FTII Production Design students amidst us. Focused towards comprehending miniature set design production pipeline from the digital perspective, the two day workshop divided among Sanath PC, Murali Manohar and Ramakrishna Kaithapula, introduced the students to the essentials of concept designing for the script, means of collaborating digital with the shots and capturing CG elements into the live footage. Gauging the flexibility offered by today's digital tools into the traditional approach of miniature shoots, students were thrilled to explore the possibilities further and implement them into their future projects. We whole heartily accepts the present of planters as a token of their love and shall nourish them with our care.

Another chapter of an year long journey is closing upon us, and as so happens, its time to look back, a time of reflection. Firefly creative studio is glad of having have walked, yet another successful year, along with all of you. As we count our achievements, we extend our gratitude towards our team, associates, peers and all of you who walked along in this journey and helped us emboss our vision even deeper into our work. As the New Year dawns, its filled with a promise of a brighter tomorrow. So, here's a toast to the future and a toast to all our companions, new and old.

"Changing film - scape with VFX", a talk presented by Mr. P.C. Sanath was received with a much gusto at India's largest digital entertainment festival - Indiajoy2019. Presentations by industry giants, interaction among studios, young entrepreneurs and budding artists called for a rather beautiful fusion of scope and talent. Emotions were strong and spirits high when festival of lights is celebrated at Firefly Creative Studio with a motto to celebrate happiness in a harmonic fusion of work and family.
Whole team came together to put on a grand fiesta of dance, games, showTheStyle, DJmasti and above all.... a celebration of oneness. Day was wrapped with devotion filled Diwali puja followed by dinner self prepared by team on our sanjha chulha at Firefly Creative Studio.
