ಪದ್ಮಾವತಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ, ವಡಂಬೈಲು
ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ಸಾಗರ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಜೋಗದಿಂದ ಸುಮಾರು 12 ಕಿ.ಮೀ. ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವಡಂಬೈಲು ಎಂಬಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವಿದೆ. ಶರಾವತಿ ವಿದ್ಯದಾಗಾರದ ಪ್ರದೇಶವಾದ್ದರಿಂದ ಜೋಗದಿಂದ ಮೊದಲು ಅನುಮತಿ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಬೇಕು. ಚೆಕ್ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಕೂಡ ಇದೆ. ಪ್ರಕೃತಿಯ ಮಡಿಲಲ್ಲಿ ಶ್ರೀ ಪದ್ಮಾವತಿ ಅಮ್ಮನವರ ದೇವಾಲಯವಿದೆ. ಶರಾವತಿ ತಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯ ಶರಾವತಿಯ ಹಿನ್ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ಆವೃತವಾಗಿದೆ. ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲ ಪ್ರದೇಶ ಹಸಿರು ವನರಾಜಶಿಯಿಂದ ಕಂಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಶಾಂತಿ ಧಾಮವಾಗಿರುವ ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯವುಜೈನ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಇತಿಹಾಸವನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಅತಿ ಎತ್ತರವಾಗಿರುವ ಆದಿಶೇಷನ ವಿಗ್ರಹವೂ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇದೆ. ಈ ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ರಾಜ್ಯದ ಅನೇಕ ಕಡೆಗಳಿಂದ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳು ಬರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವಸತಿ ಊಟದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯೂ ಇದೆ.

Ulavi Caves

Ulavi (Akal) Caves is located at Ulavi village, Uttara Kannada district, situated in the state of Karnataka. The caves are around 75 kms away from Karwar city.

Ulavi village is famous for its pilgrimage center for people of Lingayat faith. It is also famous for temples and also for its amazing caves. There are only two roads in Ulavi. One road takes the visitors to the Ulavi town and the other road takes the visitors to the Ulavi (Akal) Caves. The way to the Ulavi Caves is filled with forests and wild flowers. There are also some natural springs in between the way to the caves which are beautiful and endearing. It is believed that the water of springs has special properties and it cures certain health problems. The path to the caves looks so greener and beautiful that it increases the curiosity to reach the caves faster. On reaching Ulavi Caves one would be filled with so much positivity and energy.

The Ulavi Caves are way to beautiful then spoken in words. It has its own historic significance. Ulavi Caves consists of more than one cave which is named as Vibhooti Kanaja, Akka Nagammana Gavi and Rudrakshi Mantapa. The Vibhooti Kanaja cave is the cave where sacred ash is stored. The caves are formed of lime stones. The main cave is the Akala Gavi cave. This cave is at the higher position and thus, an iron ladder is placed at the cave so that visitors can climb and reach to the cave easily. The cave is part of a massive rock formation of several hundred feet. There are more caves in the interior of the forest which can also be explored by the visitors, each cave is different from one another and has its own unique beauty.

ಮ್ಯಾಂಗೋ’ ಎಂಬ ಪದವನ್ನು ಮಲಯಾಳಂ ಪದವಾಗಿರುವ ‘ಮನ್ನಾ’ ದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ, ಪೋರ್ಚುಗೀಸರು ಮಸಾಲೆ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ 1498 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇರಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ‘ಮಂಗಾ’ ಎಂದು ಕರೆದರು

ಬೇಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರ ಮೊದಲ ಹಣ್ಣಿನ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾವು. ಈ ಅದ್ಭುತವಾದ, ರಸಭರಿತವಾದ ಹಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾದ ವಿಶೇಷ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಸಹ ನಾವು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಬೇಸಿಗೆ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾವು ಅಗ್ರಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಈ ಸೊಗಸಾದ ಹಣ್ಣನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಲು ಮತ್ತು ಮಾವಿನಹಣ್ಣನ್ನು ದಿನದ ಕೇಂದ್ರಬಿಂದುವಾಗಿಡಲು ಜುಲೈ 22 ರಂದು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಮಾವಿನ ದಿನವನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಮಾವಿನಹಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ದೀರ್ಘ ಇತಿಹಾಸವಿದೆ. ಸುಮಾರು 5000 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಮಾವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಲಾಯಿತು. ಇದು ಭಾರತೀಯ ಜಾನಪದ ಮತ್ತು ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ವಿಧಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ ನಿಕಟ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಹೊಂದಿದೆ. ಒಂದು ಮಾವಿನ ತೋಟವನ್ನು ಬುದ್ಧನಿಗೆ ಉಡುಗೊರೆಯಾಗಿ ನೀಡಲಾಯಿತು.

‘ಮ್ಯಾಂಗೋ’ ಎಂಬ ಪದವನ್ನು ಮಲಯಾಳಂ ಪದವಾಗಿರುವ ‘ಮನ್ನಾ’ ದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಗಿದೆ, ಪೋರ್ಚುಗೀಸರು ಮಸಾಲೆ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ 1498 ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇರಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅದನ್ನು ‘ಮಂಗಾ’ ಎಂದು ಕರೆದರು.

ಬೀಜಗಳನ್ನು ವರ್ಗಾವಣೆ ಮಾಡುವ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳಿಂದಾಗಿ, ಇದು ಒಂದು ಸೀಮಿತ ಅವಧಿಗೆ ಮಾತ್ರ ಕಾರ್ಯಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಉಳಿದಿತ್ತು, ಈ ಮರವನ್ನು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಗೋಳಾರ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಮಾರು 1700 ರವರೆಗೆ ಬ್ರೆಜಿಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಡುವವರೆಗೂ ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಲಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಂತರ ಇದು 1740 ರಲ್ಲಿ ವೆಸ್ಸ್ಟ್ ಇಂಡೀಸ್ಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿತು.ಮಾವಿನ ಶೇಕಡ50 %ರಷ್ಟು ವಿಟಮಿನ್ ಸಿ, ಶೇಖಡ 8% ರಷ್ಟು ವಿಟಮಿನ್ ಎ, ಮತ್ತು ವಿಟಮಿ

ಕುಪ್ಪಳ್ಳಿ ವೆಂಕಟಪ್ಪ ಪುಟ್ಟಪ್ಪ ಅವರು ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳದದ್ದು ಶಿವಮೊಗ್ಗ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆಯ ತೀಥಹಳ್ಳಿ ತಾಲುಕಿನ ಕುಪ್ಪಳ್ಳಿಎಂಬ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿ. ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕವಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಬೆಳದದ್ದು ಕುಪ್ಪಳ್ಳಿ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ , ಅದು ಈಗ "ಕವಿ ಮನೆ "ಎಂದೇ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ದವಾಗಿದೆ. ಕ್ರಿ.ಸ ೨೦೦೧ರಲ್ಲಿ ಕವಿ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಪುನರ್ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಟಾಪಿಸಲಾಯಿತು. ೧೫೦ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ಕುವೆಂಪುರವರ ಅಜ್ಜ, ಮುತ್ತಜ್ಜಂದಿರು ಬಾಳಿ ಬದುಕಿದ ಮನೆ,ಇದು ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ಹಸಿರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಂಗೊಳಿಸುತ್ತ ಇಂದು ಕೂಡ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರ ಕಣ್ಣು ಸೆಳೆಯುತ್ತದೆ.

"ಕಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಕೊಡತಲಿರುವ ಸೊಬಗವೀಡು ನನ್ನ ಮನೆ" -ಕುವೆಂಪು.

ಇಂತಹ ೧೫೦ ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಳೆಯ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ನವೀಕರಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಎರಡು ಮಹಡಿಗಳು,ಮದ್ಯ ಒಳ ಅಂಗಳ ಇರುವ ಈ ಮನೆ,ಆ ಕಾಲದ ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ಜಮೀನುದರರ ಮನೆಯ ಮಾದರಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಭೀಮ ಗಾತ್ರದ ಮುಂಡಿಗೆಗಳು ಕೆತ್ತನೆ ಕೆಲಸದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದು, ಮಲೆನಾಡಿನ ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಕಾಷ್ಠ ಶಿಲ್ಪ ವೈಭವವನ್ನು ನೆನಪಿಸುವಂತಿದೆ.ಕುವೆಂಪು ಅವರು ಕುಪ್ಪಳ್ಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಬಳಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಕೊಠಡಿ, ಅವರು ಸೂರ್ಯೋದವನ್ನು ವೀಕ್ಷಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಪೂರ್ವ ದಿಕ್ಕಿಗೆ ತೆರೆದುಕೊಂದಿರುವ ಮಹಡಿ, 'ಮನೆಯ ಶಾಲೆ' ನೆಡುಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳ, 'ಅಜ್ಜಯ್ಯನ ಅಭ್ಯಂಜನದ' ಬಚ್ಚಲು ಮನೆ, ಕೊಳ,ಮನೆಯ ಸಮೀಪದ ಕೆರೆ ಇವು ಸಂದರ್ಶಕರನ್ನು ಭಾವ ಪರವಶವನ್ನಾಗಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.ಕುವೆಂಪು ಅವರ ವಿವಾಹ ನಡೆದ ಮರದ ಮಂಟಪ, .

ಗಲ್ಲಾಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ: ಇದನ್ನು ಓದಲು, ಬರೆಯಲು, ಹಾಗು ಲೆಕ್ಕ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಇಡಲು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವ ಮರದ ಮೇಜಿನ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಪತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಇಡಲು ಅನುಕೂಲವಿದ

Karinjeshwara Temple Bantwal | Shiva Temple On Hill Top | ಕಾರಿಂಜೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ, ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳ

Sri Karinjeshwara Temple (ಶ್ರೀ ಕಾರಿಂಜೇಶ್ವರ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಬಂಟ್ವಾಳ ಮಂಗಳೂರು) is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This Lord Shiva Temple located on top of a rock mountain in Bantwal Taluk, Dakshina Kannada district, Karnataka, India.
There is also Goddess Parvathi and Lord Ganesha Temple slightly lower on another mountain. There are about 550 steps, takes about 15 mins from the Parvathi and Ganesha Temple and we can drive the car up until this point.
The hill top offers magnificent view of the surroundings with lush green mountains.
Temple Timings: Parvathi Temple will be open mostly all day, the Shiva Temple on the hill top will be open only between 9Am-12pm and 5:30 pm-6:30 pm.

Kapu is a beach village in coastal Karnataka. Kapu’s long sandy beaches offer a panoramic view of the Arabian Sea. 
Kapu lighthouse was built in 1901. Kapu lighthouse is 27 meters tall. Constructed on a rock, the lighthouse has stood the test of time and has guided ships to safety during the days when ships did not have satellite navigation and relied on lighthouses on the shores for warnings. 

Kapu light house is open to visitors from 4 PM to 6 PM daily. Visitors may go up the stairs and get a bird’s eye view of Kąpu beach. The lighthouse may be closed during heavy rains for safety reasons.

Kapu is 400 kms from Bengaluru and 45 kms from Mangaluru (nearest airport). Udupi is the nearest railway station (15 kms). Regular buses are available from Mangaluru and Udupi to reach Kapu.

Cashew is the common name of a tropical evergreen tree Anacardium occidentale, in the family Anacardiaceae. It is native to South America and is the source of the cashew nut and the cashew apple, an accessory fruit. The tree can grow as tall as 14 metres (46 feet), but the dwarf cultivars, growing up to 6 m (20 ft), prove more profitable, with earlier maturity and greater yields. The cashew nut is edible and is eaten on its own as a snack, used in recipes, or processed into cashew cheese or cashew butter. The nut is often simply called a 'cashew'. Cashew can cause allergies triggered by the proteins

In 2019, four million tonnes of cashew nuts were produced globally, with Ivory Coast and India the leading producers. As well as the nut and fruit, the plant has several other uses. The shell of the cashew seed yields derivatives that can be used in many applications including lubricants, waterproofing, paints, and, starting in World War II, arms production. The cashew apple is a light reddish to yellow fruit, whose pulp and juice can be processed into a sweet, astringent fruit drink or fermented and distilled into liquor.
