The temple epitomises Kalinga style and brings to a close the mediaeval phases of Bhubaneswar's architectural legacy.The Somavamsi dynasty monarchs are thought to have constructed the temple, with later expansions made by the Ganga kings🚩

The temple is constructed in the Deula style and has four distinct parts: the vimana, which houses the sanctum, the jagamohana, which serves as an assembly hall, the natamandira, which serves as a festival hall, and the bhoga-mandapa, which houses the offerings⛳

Each of these parts is taller than the one before it. The temple complex is surrounded by a substantial compound wall and has 50 more shrines🚩🚩

অভ্যুত্থানমধর্মস্য,
তদাত্মানং সৃজাম্যহম্।।
পরিত্রাণায় সাধুনাং,
বিনাশয় চ দুষ্কৃতাং।।
ধর্মসংস্থাপনার্থায়,
সম্ভবামি যুগে যুগে।।

অনুবাদঃ-
যখনই ধর্মের গ্লানি হয়, অধর্মের অভ্যুত্থান ঘটে তখনই পাপীদের পরিত্রাণ এবং দুষ্কৃতীদের বিনাশ করে ধর্মসংস্থাপন করার জন্য আমি ( স্বীয় পরমাত্মাকে মায়া দ্বারা সৃজন করি ) যুগে যুগে অবতীর্ণ হই ।।

যাকে দেখার জন্য হাজার হাজার টাকা খরচ করে
মন্দিরে যান, তীর্থে যান, একবার কি নিজের মনে খুঁজে দেখেছেন তাকে ?

দুচোখ বন্ধ করে আগে নিজের মনের মন্দিরে তাদের যুগল প্রতিস্থাপিত করুন, তারপর প্রাণ ভরে কৃষ্ণ নাম জপ করুন।
