Few "Half Truths" about Voting ----
Half Truth #1: If none of the candidates are good enough, use NOTA.
Complete truth is, use of your vote is not just for choosing a RIGHT candidate, it can also be used to Defeat a WRONG Candidate or Party, by voting against them. You have to vote for the AVAILABLE BEST candidate.
Perfect Candidate is a mirage, just like a perfect spouse.🤣 Settle for the available best, so that the worst candidate is voted out.
Half Truth # 2: You should vote for the Candidate, not for the Prime Minister.
Complete truth is, Indians don't have a separate voting right to choose PM or president, as in countries like USA. (Presidential form of democracy)
My MP will vote to choose the PM, thus my vote indirectly chooses the PM.
Since PM's post is much more responsible post than the MP, my responsibility in choosing PM candidate is a bigger responsibility, than choosing an MP.
Half Truth #3: If your MP has not worked for the constituency, vote him out.
Complete truth is, local roads, water supply, hospitals, local law & order, should be an issue for State assembly elections.
Issues for Parliamentary elections are different... Like, economic growth, national infrastructure, foriegn policies, national security etc.
Vote wisely... Vote Responsibly
