NEWS | Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma To Settle In London Permanently: Reports

Virat Kohli is set to make London his permanent home, as confirmed by his childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, as per reports. Kohli, along with his wife, Bollywood superstar Anushka Sharma, and their children Vamika and Akaay, will move to the UK capital soon, seeking a quieter life away from the limelight, media reports stated.

"Yes, Virat plans to move to London with his children and wife, Anushka Sharma. He is going to be leaving India and shifting very soon. However, right now, Kohli is spending most of his time with his family apart from cricket," Sharma said in an interview with Dainik Jagran.

The decision to move holds sentimental value for the family as well. Kohli’s son, Akaay, was born in London earlier this year, and the family already owns property in the city.

Kohli’s recent schedule has included time in London between cricketing commitments. After the IPL 2024 and India’s victorious T20 World Cup campaign in the Americas, Kohli spent quality time with his family in the UK before returning to the field for the away ODI series against Sri Lanka in July.

The move marks a significant shift for Kohli, who has long been a central figure in Indian cricket. For fans back home, this signals the beginning of a new chapter for the star cricketer, away from the glamour of the sport and into a life of solace in London.

NEWS | Massive traffic congestion gripped the Dispur area on December 20, as protests staged by the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee near the Last Gate, Secretariat and Ganeshguri brought movement to a standstill.

Commuters bore the brunt of the protests, which created gridlocks across major roads. Vehicles were left stranded for significant time while traffic and city police officials struggled to manage the situation.

Adding to the chaos were vehicles parked on the sides of already congested roads, further complicating the task of controlling the crowd.

A traffic official from Dispur Police Station told GPlus, “The situation worsened due to the protest, but it will get better soon.”

The incident highlights the recurring challenges of balancing public demonstrations and maintaining smooth traffic flow in the city.

A massive 17-foot-long Burmese python, weighing approximately 100 kilograms, was rescued from the Assam University campus in Silchar late on December 18, 2024.
