On the occasion of Army Day 2025,the Indian Army proudly organized the Know Your Army Mela, at Sirwani Transit Camp. The event received an enthusiastic response from the local community, including schoolchildren, college students, Ex-Servicemen, and esteemed military dignitaries.

The mela provided a unique platform for students and civilians to interact with the valiant soldiers of the Indian Army, gaining valuable insights into their capabilities, firepower, and operational excellence.

Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang-Golay inaugurated Tourist information Centre at Dentam.he Writes.

It was a privilege to inaugurate the first Tourist Information Centre at Dentam, Gyalshing district, a significant step towards boosting tourism while ensuring traveler convenience.

This centre will serve as a hub for comprehensive information, guiding visitors on local attractions, transportation, accommodations, and cultural experiences. It will also promote Dentam’s natural beauty, rich heritage, and unique flora and fauna while supporting the local community by showcasing their crafts, products, and services.

Additionally, the centre will oversee upcoming projects like the Singshore Sky-Bridge, the Multimodal Corridor at Chiwa Bhanjyang, and the Uttaray Lake project, while supporting new homestay ventures.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone whose efforts made this initiative a success.

Mangan district prepares for 76th Republic Day.

Mangan, January 16 (IPR): A coordination meeting for the celebration of 76th Republic Day for the district was conducted at Confrence Hall District Administrative Centre Mangan, today.

Mr Anant Jain (IAS) DC Mangan chaired the coordination meeting. Also present were Mr Pema Wangchen Namkarpa Additional District Magistrate Mangan, Mr Mani Kumar Tamang ASP Mangan, Dr Sonam Rinchen Lepcha ADC (Dev) Mangan, Heads of District and officals from line departments.

The meeting focused on planning and coordination, while resolving various arrangements pertaining to the celebration.

DC mangan distributed respective roles and responsibilities accordingly to all departments and officals ensuring a successful celebration of the 76th Republic Day.

Earlier today, I had the pleasure of meeting a delegation from the Yuma Mang Meditation Centre, led by its President, Shri Teng Hang Limboo, along with other distinguished members of the Centre, at my official residence.

During their visit, they graciously extended a formal invitation for me to be the Chief Guest at the grand opening ceremony of the Lebunba Pungwa Ne Ing Yuk Him (Yuma Mang-Him) in Darap, West Sikkim, scheduled for next month. I am deeply grateful for their thoughtful gesture and the warm invitation, and I sincerely appreciate their efforts to uphold and promote our rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

LOCAL CLIMBER SET TO REPRESENT SIKKIM AT NATIONAL LEVEL

Gangtok, - January 13, 2025

The Sikkim Sporting Climbing Association (SSCA) is proud to announce that Vishnu Kumar Gurung, a talented member of the association, has made a remarkable achievement by winning medals at the North East Zone Climbing Competitions.

This outstanding feat has earned Vishnu a spot to represent Sikkim at the prestigious National Climbing Competitions in Bangalore. The SSCA is thrilled to support Vishnu on his journey to the national level and is calling on its members to contribute towards his participation.

A farewell party was organized today at Samman Bhawan to honor and bid adieu to the outgoing Director General of Police (DGP) of Sikkim, Shri A.K. Singh, IPS. A collision occurred between a pickup van and a Maruti van in Panjhora, near Nagrakata in Dooars. The crash resulted in one fatality and left another person injured. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, and the injured were taken to the hospital.
