चिया कविता सिक्किमको 11औँ वार्षिक उत्सवमा भव्य कविता साँझ

गान्तोक,26 दिसम्बर। साहित्यलाई औपचारिक कार्यक्रमको परम्परागत घेराबाट मुक्ति दिँदै वर्ष 2014 सालको दिसम्बरदेखि सिक्किमको राजधानी गान्तोकबाट आरम्भ भएको चिया कविताको 11औँ वार्षिक उत्सव भव्यताको साथ पालन गरिएको छ। गान्तोकको एउटा सितारा होटलमा आयोजित भव्य वार्षिक उत्सवको मुख्य आकर्षण कविता साँझ रहेको थियो। जहाँ सिक्किम दार्जीलिङका उम्दा कविहरूले कविता प्रस्तुती दिएका थिए। चिया कविता सिक्किमले आफ्नो वार्षिक उत्सवको अवसरमा भारतका चर्चित कवि तथा भूतपूर्व प्रधानमन्त्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयीलाई पनि सम्झना गऱ्यो। चिया कविताको वार्षिक उत्सवकै दिन वाजपेयीको पनि जन्म जयन्ती पहेको हुनाले उनको पोट्रेटमा खादा लगाएर सम्मान गर्दै कविहरूले उनलाई सम्झना गरेको छ। यस अवसरमा कवि वाजपेयीको कविता वाचन सत्र पनि रहेको थियो।
चिया कविताले केवल साहित्यलाई केन्द्रित गरेर कार्य गरिरहेको तथा कार्यक्रमहरू अनौपचारिक भएको हुनाले यसले ताकेको लक्ष्य नै सर्वोपरि रहेको कार्यक्रमको बिट मार्नेक्रममा कवि आख्य़ानकार प्रवीण राई जुमेलीले मन्तव्य व्यक्त गरे। उनले 2014 देखि चिया किविताको सहयात्रामा आफू रहेको अनुभव साझा गर्दै यसले तामझाम र अऩावश्यक कुराहरूलाई नभएर केवल साहित्य कलालाई फोकसमा राखेर काम गरेको हुनाले सिक्किमबाट साहित्यमा गरिने कार्यको उदाहरण स्थापित गरेको बताए। यसैगरि कवि डा प्रदीप त्रिपाठीले सिक्किममा कविताको निम्ति सबैभन्दा सक्रिय मञ्च चिया कविता रहेको स्पष्ट रहेको बताए।
चिया कविताको कविता साँझमा नेपाली, अङ्ग्रेजी र हिन्दी भाषाका कविहरूले कविता सुनाएका थिए। जसमा डा इडेन भोटिया, गोपाल यात्री, प्रवीण राई जुमेली, जिवीका अश्रु, निलम गुरुङ, सविना राई, सुरज शर्मा, पुरण भण्डारी, जीवन छेत्री, सुजल प्रधान, सुचन प्रधान, सोनाम पाल्जोर, दावा योञ्जन, भीम रावत, डा प्रदीप त्रिपाठी, प्रवीण खालिङले स्वरचित कविताहरू सुनाएका थिए। कार्यक्रममा साहित्यकारसितै चित्रकला सङ्गीत कलामा सङ्लग्न व्यक्तित्वहरूको पनि उपस्थिति रहेक थियो। जसमा चित्रकार पारस राई, धीरज लामिछाने, सङ्तकर्मी रोयस तामाङलगायत अन्यको उत्साहजनक उपस्थिति रहेको थियो।
वर्ष 2014 देखि शुरू भएको चिया कविता, सिक्किमले अनौपचारिक कविता कार्यक्रममा किताब चर्चा, विमोचन लगायत दुइ वर्षदेखि चिया कविता पुरस्कार प्रदान गर्दै आएको छ। यस अतिरिक्त चिया कविताले हिउँमा कविता, इको पोयट्री, बायोलेटुरा, गाउँमा कविता, पाठक सम्मान, कविता साँझ, जिल्लामा कविता जस्ता कार्यक्रमहरू आयोजन गर्दै आएको छ। यसरी नै चाँडै पाठकहरूको निम्ति दुर्लभ पुस्तकहरूको नयाँ संस्करणलाई प्रकाशित गर्ने पहलहरू पनि गर्ने बताएको छ। चिया कविता सिक्किमको कार्यक्रमबाट प्रभावित भएर अहिले नेपालको राजधानी काठमाण्डौमा दुई वर्षदेखि चिया कविता नेपाल कार्यक्रम पनि सञ्चालन गर्दै आएको छ।

20th Elite Youth Men’s and Women’s Sikkim State Boxing Championship 2024 Concludes

The 20th Elite Youth Men’s and Women’s Sikkim State Boxing Championship 2024 concluded successfully on its third and final day. Organized by the Namchi District Boxing Association (NDBA) in collaboration with the Sikkim Amateur Boxing Association (SABA), the championship showcased remarkable talent and enthusiasm from participants across the state.

The closing ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Raj Kumari Thapa, Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, as the Chief Guest. Other notable attendees included Satish Chandra Rai, Chief Patron (NDBA) and MLA of the 11th Namchi-Singithang area; Jas Lal Pradhan, SABA President and Arjuna Awardee; Sandhya Gurung, Dronacharya Awardee and Chief Coach; MD (SBS) P Wangdi Bhutia, DC Namchi Anupa Tamling, SDM Namchi, government contractors, and other distinguished guests.

The event began with a group song and a western dance performance, adding a festive charm to the occasion. Before the matches commenced, Chief Patron Satish Chandra Rai delivered a motivational address, commending the athletes and highlighting the unwavering support of Chief Minister P.S. Golay for the development of boxing in Sikkim.

In her address, Chief Guest Raj Kumari Thapa lauded the efforts of the NDBA and praised the athletes for their dedication. She encouraged young boxers to take inspiration from local legends like Sandhya Gurung and Jas Lal Pradhan, whose achievements have put Sikkim on the national sporting map. She concluded by wishing success to all athletes and organizers involved in the championship.

The event culminated with a prize distribution ceremony, where outstanding performers were honored by the dignitaries. The championship ended on a high note, leaving a lasting impression of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and the vibrant spirit of Sikkim’s boxing community.

The free ride provided by the United Christian Welfare Society of Sikkim, Gangtok District, and the Christian Drivers Welfare Society of Sikkim concludes. An organization held a felicitation event for all of the drivers who made the ride possible. The president of the organisation extended his deepest appreciation to the entire driver association for its assistance. All drivers are presented with a certificate of appreciation. Sunil Kami and Damber Singh Tirwa from the same association, who were recently appointed to DSP and Account Officer respectively, were additionally honored with certificates of appreciation.

BANGLORE (22/12/2024) On a recent video produced from Bangalore, Dr. Lomash Timsina, the Chief General Secretary of the Sikkim Students Union Bangalore (SSUB), addressed the parents and guardians of Sikkimese students studying in the city. The video aimed to encourage students to join the SSUB’s membership program and highlighted the importance of their participation in the association's activities. Dr. Timsina began his message by emphasizing the significance of SSUB as a crucial platform for Sikkimese students in Bangalore. He urged parents and guardians to encourage their children to become members of the association, underscoring that this involvement is vital not only for individual growth but also for fostering a sense of community among Sikkimese students in the city. The speech covered several key points regarding the objectives and activities of the SSUB: 1.Identification of Students. 2.Role of Coordinators. 3.Community Building. Lastly, Dr. Timsina acknowledged the support extended to SSUB by the Honourable Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri. PS Golay. He conveyed deep gratitude for the leadership and encouragement received from the Chief Minister, which has been instrumental in the progress of the association. Additionally, Dr. Timsina expressed his appreciation for Shri. Jacob Khaling, the Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, recognizing his significant role in assisting SSUB and offering continued support to the association’s efforts. The United Christian Welfare Society of Sikkim (Gangtok District) and the Christian Drivers Welfare Society of Sikkim organized a one-day free ride for the public with the theme “Spreading Joy and Happiness” on the eve of Christmas 2024. A total of 29 vehicles participated in this noble initiative. Ps. Rinko Tenzing Lepcha, President of UCWSS, and Suman Singh, President of UCWDS, provided a briefing to the FFS regarding the ride.
