हिजदेखि सोसियल मिडियामा देखा परेको साम्सोङ तामाङको अति नै जातिवादी अनि विभाजनकारी वक्तव्यको एसकेएम पार्टी घोर भत्सर्ना अनि निन्दा गर्दछ । उनको उक्त वक्तव्य पूर्णरूपले असत्य, तथ्यहीन, अस्वीकार्य अनि अव्यावहारिक रहेको छ । उनले प्रस्तुत गरेका कुराहरूमा न हिज कुनै सत्यता थियो , न आज छ अनि न भविष्यमा यस्ता मनगडन्ते कुराहरूले कुनै स्वीकार्यता नै पाउनेछ । भारतको शान्तिप्रिय अनि जातीय सदभावना सधैं कायम रहेको सिक्किम राज्यमा यस्ता जातिवादी विचारको कुनै स्थान नै छैन । यहाँको समाज र राजनीति यस्तो तुच्छ विचारधारादेखि धेरै माथि उठिसकेको छ जहाँ हामी सबै सिक्किमवासी चाहे कुनै जुनै धर्म र जात समुदायको भएता पनि आपस्तमा सिक्किमे मूलका भारतीय नागरिक भएर बाँच्दछौं।
आफ्नै कुराको सुर नभएका सामसोङ तामाङले निजी तथा अति नै आपत्तिजनक आफ्नो कुराहरूमा सिक्किमको अखण्ड समाजलाई मुछ्नु अति नै दूर्भाग्यपूर्ण कुरा हो । युगौंदेखि हामी सिक्किममा सिक्किमे भोटिया, सिक्किमे लेप्चा अनि सिक्किमे नेपाली समुदाय , जसभित्र खस छेत्री - बाहुन लगायत सम्पूर्ण नेपाली उप जातिहरू पर्छन्, हामी आपस्तमा नङ-मासु झैं मिलेर बसेका छौँ । राजाको शासनकालमा राजाले पनि हामीलाई छुट्याएको थिएन भने 1975 मा भारत देशमा हामी गाभिएपछि आजसम्मको प्रजातान्त्रिक इतिहासमा पनि हामी एकाआर्कामा मिलेर दाज्यु - भाई सरह मिलेर बसी आएको हाम्रो अति नै मनोरम अनि गौरवशाली इतिहास छ । यसर्थ, हामी किटान गरेर भन्छौ उनको भनाईहरुले सिक्किमको समाजिक अनि राजनैतिक धरातलमा रतिभरको महत्त्व राख्दैन।
जहाँसम्म सिक्किममा खस जातिको चिन्हारी, अस्तित्व र इतिहासको कुरा छ यो सिक्किमको मानचित्रसँगै सबै सिक्किमवासी जाति समुदायसँग एकै साथ उभिएको छ । सिक्किमको सम्पूर्ण स्थानीय रैथाने समुदायको जुन चिन्हारी अनि इतिहास जीवित छ त्यही चिन्हारी र इतिहास खसको पनि छ । आज एक मानसिक सन्तुलन गुमाएको व्यक्तिले गर्दा सम्पूर्ण खस समुदायमा जुन चोट पुगेको छ यसलाई एसकेएम पार्टीले अति गम्भीरतासँग संज्ञानमा लिँदै उक्त व्यक्तिविरुद्द आवश्यक अनि कठोर कानूनी कार्यवाही अवश्य गर्नेछ। यसको साथै खस समुदायको गौरवशाली पहिचान र इतिहासलाई सधैं अटल अनि निर्विवाद राख्नु आवश्यक पहल पनि गर्नेछ ताकि भविष्यमा यस्ता समाजबिरोधी तत्वहरुले घात गर्ने हिम्मत गर्न नसकोस् ।

यही बीच, केही व्यक्ति विशेष अनि राजनैतिक पार्टीहरुको बयान वा प्रेस विज्ञप्तिहरुमा सामसङ तामाङसँग जोडेर सिक्किम क्रान्तिकारी मोर्चा पार्टीलाई दोष्याउने कुप्रयास गरेको पनि देखियो जो सरासर गलत हो अनि यस्तो गम्भीर विषयलाई पनि राजनैतिक रोटी सेक्ने मौकाको रूपमा प्रयोग गर्न खोज्ने उनीहरूको यो कोशिश अति नै निन्दनीय रहेको छ । श्री समासोङ तामाङसँग एसकेएम पार्टीको कुनै पनि नेताहरुको वैचारिक, सैद्धान्तिक अनि नीतिगत संबन्ध छैन । वर्तमानमा विज्ञान अनि विकासको देन अनुरूप फोटो खिच्ने सुविधा अति सरल अनि प्रसस्त भएको कारण कही - कतै फोटो खिचेको हुनसक्छ तर यसको अर्थ फोटोमा हुनेसँग राजनैतिक अनि वैचारिक संबन्ध छ भन्नु अव्यवहारिक अनि अवैज्ञानिक हो ।

| BJP Sikkim wholeheartedly welcomes and applauds the transformative Union Budget 2025, presented by Hon'ble Union Finance Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman ji under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji. This visionary budget paves the way for a "Viksit Bharat" by focusing on tax reforms, agriculture, tourism, and strengthening infrastructure, with a special emphasis on rural and mountain regions.

Key Highlights of the Budget:

- Tax Relief: Substantial income tax relief, with no tax on income up to ₹12 lakh under the new regime, and up to ₹12.75 lakh for salaried individuals.

- Tourism Development: Development of 50 key tourism sites, modified UDAAN regional connectivity scheme, and emphasis on Homestay tourism and Buddhist Tourism Circuit initiative.

Educational Exposure Tour to Tamil Nadu and Kerala Flagged Off for Sikkim's Awardee Teachers

Gangtok, January 20 (IPR): Mr Raju Basnet, Minister for Education, Sports and Youth Affairs, Law and Parliamentary Affairs Departments, flagged off an educational exposure tour for State and Commendation Awardee Teachers at SNT Complex, today.

The programme was organised by the Education Department, Government of Sikkim.

In his address, Mr Basnett extended his best wishes and expressed confidence that the teachers would gain valuable insights. He emphasised that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to enhancing the professional skills of educators.

He also highlighted that the knowledge and experiences gained from the tour would contribute to strengthening Sikkim’s education system.

A total of 36 teachers, accompanied by their spouses, will take part in an 11-day tour to Tamil Nadu and Kerala. They will visit schools in rural and urban areas to learn teaching methods, share ideas, study cultural and historical practices.

This is the third edition of the programme, introduced by Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang and announced on Teacher’s Day in September 2022. National Awardee Teachers are sent on international tours, while State and Commendation Awardees participate in national educational tours.

The flag-off programme was attended by Mr Tashi Chophel Secretary School Education, Mr Sonam Denzongpa Principal Director School Education, Ms Tsheringkee Chingapa Director School Education and Planning, Mr Kiran Dahal, Deputy Director Planning Education Department, officials and staff from the Education Department.

16th Finance Commission Chairman Meets Sikkim Chief Minister

Gangtok, January 20 (IPR): Ahead of the 16th Finance Commission meeting with the Sikkim State Government, the Commission led by its Chairman, Dr Arvind Panagariya, met with Chief Minister Mr Prem Singh Tamang at his office in the Tashiling Secretariat, this morning.

Marathon Man Amar S***a came 5th place in 25 km Trail Run.
Once again Amar S***a added one more feather in the cap by achieving a wonderful feet in the Jumping Gorilla Mountain Ultra Trail Running Championship, Pune, Maharashtra on 12th January 2025.
During 100 km run Amar was infected by virus and after past five hours of run he was adviveced by Doctor to take rest due to deteriorating health conditions.
Next day, the organising committee after consulting the doctor allowed to run for 25 km.
With grit and strong determination, S***a started the run and stood 5th place in the Open Categories among 59 participants.
Lastly he would like to give heartfelt thanks to Mr Tenzing Norbu Bhutia (General Secretary, Gangtok to South West Taxi Jeep Driver's Association) for his unconditional and unwavering support during this championship.

The AMAS Runners achieved remarkable success across various Categories:
1) Pritam Rai clinched the 3rd place in the 100 Km.
2) Anuda Tamang aechived a commendable 2nd place in the 50 Km.
3) Shanti Rai finished with an impressive 2nd place in the 25 Km.
4) Sushmita Rai came 4th place in the 50 Km.

Today, I had an important meeting with the Police Commissioner of Siliguri at his office, focusing on critical issues affecting Sikkim and the hill regions, with particular emphasis on the troubling extortion incident involving a chalak from Sikkim at NJP, Siliguri last week . To buttress my points I submitted necessary documents like news paper cuttings ( social media ) , media drive containing the footage of the incident published in various media and a complaint addressing the concerns to the police commissioner. I laid out the grave concerns and grievances surrounding this matter, and it was heartening to see the Commissioner give his undivided attention to our worries.
The Commissioner shared with me that an in-depth investigation has been set into motion, spearheaded by an experienced senior officer of the rank of DySP. He has ensured justice for the victim and has also assured that the safety of individuals, particularly those from Sikkim and other hill regions will be of paramount importance.
Additionally, I voiced the pressing issue regarding the targeted inspections of vehicles bearing SK numbers and others from hill regions. Reassuringly, the Police Commissioner assured to issue prompt directives to the concern authorities .
Our discussions were constructive, setting the stage for continued collaboration. As we concluded our meeting on a hopeful note, there is optimism that these decisive measures will foster a climate of safety and mutual respect.

The team consists of eight runners, led by Amar S***a himself, all representing the Amar S***a Marathon Man Academy of Sikkim (AMAS).
