Since its inception in 2008, it has been pioneering the work of Book Publishing in promoting Naga Literature and taking it worldwide. From humble beginnings in 2008, today it has become the melting point of knowledge production of the Nagas and taking Naga literature and writing to a wider readership. Heritage Publishing House today boasts of over hundred books including journals which are largely
on academics in the areas of traditional culture, folklore, history, politics, religion, society and emerging narratives. Some of the books published by Heritage Publishing House are used as text books by students in Nagaland Colleges. Heritage Publishing House is headed by Dr. Lanusangla Tzudir who is the proprietor, publisher and Chief Editor, has a Ph. D in Modern History from the Centre for Historical Studies, JNU, New Delhi and a proper certificate course on publishing to her credit. Her untiring endeavor of going through the various intricate process of publishing and promoting, takes Naga literature and writing to her people and to the outside world. Literature in Nagaland is at a crucial juncture. For generations our literature - culture, history and narratives etc has been handed down through an oral tradition giving a definite shape to our identity. Today, orality is fast disappearing which is further compounded by the fast dying out of the raconteurs. As such there is an urgent need to publish Naga Literature in print so that the coming younger generations can trace back to their roots. Today the digital world has set a rapid tone of digitization including books which is perhaps perceived as a seeming threat but no matter what, print and digital cannot replace the other and will go hand in hand even in the days to come. We will continuously labor in publishing and promoting the works of Naga writers and authors for which urgency is felt. Besides, we will continue to organise books fairs and literary festivals and seminars to produce an effect towards creating an intellectual environment which is the mark of any civilized society and thereby produce a positive report on Knowledge of the Nagas.
