Udaan: The Career Club of IIT ISM Dhanbad, hosted an inspiring guest talk by the renowned mathematician and educator, Dr. Gajendra Purohit, on January 13th at the Penman Auditorium, as part of Srijan 2025.

Known for his exceptional ability to teach mathematics and connect with students, Dr. Purohit addressed an enthusiastic audience during a session that began at 6:50 P.M., following a brief delay of about 20 minutes.

The event began with the traditional diya lighting, symbolizing the pursuit of knowledge, followed by a heartfelt video made by Udaan celebrating Dr. Purohit's contributions. The session provided practical strategies for mastering academics, life, and acing the GATE exam. An engaging Q&A segment allowed students to clarify doubts and receive tailored advice, making the talk both interactive and inspiring.

The attendees departed with renewed motivation and a clear sense of direction, feeling well-prepared to tackle their academic challenges with confidence. The event concluded at 8:15 P.M.

Urgent message to all alumni and students. Kindly consider the matter with immediate urgency!

Upkar Bharti and Aditya Bharti, brothers from IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, have made an urgent appeal for their maternal grandfather, Bir Chandra Bhagat. He is in critical condition at IGIMS Hospital, Patna, battling a brain hemorrhage, half-body paralysis, and severe blood clotting. His condition has worsened, and he is now on ventilation.
They humbly request the support of the college community, friends, and well-wishers. Even a small contribution can help continue his treatment and offer hope to their family in this difficult time.

The International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is one of the most prestigious and challenging programming competitions worldwide. It serves as an exceptional platform for students to sharpen their teamwork, coding expertise, and problem-solving skills while competing against the brightest minds.

We are pleased to announce the teams who successfully cleared the preliminary round and qualified for the ICPC onsite regionals :-

The prestigious Inter IIT Tech Meet 2024 was held at IIT Bombay from 11th to 14th December, showcasing exceptional talent and innovation from across the IITs. IIT(ISM) Dhanbad secured an impressive 11th position overall among 23 IITs.

Led by Sumit Gupta as the contingent leader, Rohan Kumar and Sagnik Pal as the deputy contingent leaders and Shreyansh Shandilya as the general secretary, our teams delivered an outstanding performance.

We finished in the top 10 in three problem statements and proudly brought home a silver medal in the Zelta Labs (high prep) problem statement. The medal-winning team was led by Kchitiz Raj, with remarkable contributions from Pranav Jha, Ganesh Talwar, Sahebdeep Singh, Mihir Kotadiya, Vivek Pandey, Dhruv Agrawal, Rohan Kumar, and Rish*t Jain. Their hard work, technical expertise, and exceptional teamwork have brought immense pride to the institute.

This year’s accomplishment reflects our team’s dedication to innovation, excellence, and continuous growth, marked by a one-rank improvement from last year. Team Mailer Daemon congratulates the entire team for this remarkable success!
