Jammu-Srinagar NHW closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation around the NAVYUG Tunnel. Commuters are advised to avoid journey on NH-44 till the weather is improve and road is clear. SRINAGAR, DECEMBER 27: In view of growing public resentment against unilateral & abrupt decision of price hike of local bread by Bakers(Nanwais), Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri on Friday held a detailed meeting with the representatives of association to settle the issue.
While giving the interim relief to address the crises, the meeting amicably agreed to fix the price of one Roti (approx. 42 gm) at Rs 7 and the price of 3 Rotis at Rs 20 till the Food Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs department conducts analysis of the market and submits the report.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner advised them to ensure the availability of Rotis across the division.

*Anantnag Police Books Three Notorious Drug Smugglers Under PIT NDPS Act and Detains Fraudster Under PSA*

Anantnag, December 27, 2024:
As part of its sustained efforts to combat Drug trafficking and ensure public safety, Anantnag Police has taken stringent action against criminal elements. Three notorious drug smugglers have been booked under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act, while a habitual fraudster has been detained under the Public Safety Act (PSA).

Details of the Drug smugglers booked under PIT NDPS Act:

1. *Zubair Ahmad Ganie* , son of Mohammad Ramzan Ganie, resident of Gund Bagh Seer Hamdan, involved in Case FIR No. 04/2024 under the NDPS Act at Police Station Mattan, where a significant quantity of contraband was seized.

2. *Bashir Ahmad Khan* , son of Mohammad Yousuf Khan, resident of Gopalpora Mattan, implicated in Case FIR No. 89/2024 under the NDPS Act at Police Station Mattan.

3. *Sartaj Ahmad Bhat* , son of Abdul Rashid Bhat, resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara, involved in Case FIR No. 14/2024 under the NDPS Act at Police Station Bijbehara.

These actions aim to disrupt Drug trafficking networks and deter habitual offenders from continuing their illegal activities.

Additionally, Anantnag Police has detained a notorious fraudster, *Bilal Ahmad Lone alias Dr. Bilal,* son of Mohammad Akbar Lone, resident of Maratgam, Handwara, under the PSA. Known for his involvement in multiple fraudulent activities, Bilal Ahmad Lone has caused significant Public distress.
