Sharing some tips that have helped me in my work. These are the steps I follow before “pitching” my services to the client after the call.
🔸Jot down the points discussed in the discovery call.
This helps you recollect on what things matter to the client. What were the points they talked more about, which were the ones they just brushed at. What issues they are facing, what is their vision, etc.
🔸Focus on how you can help the business with your services
Study the conversation from a fresh perspective and think how your services can help the business.
🔸Prepare a proposal for the client
Now that you know how you can help, prepare a proposal listing the details of the services and the processes. This is where you mention the price and the actual services you will be providing.
🔸End with a ‘Thank you’ note and a genuine message
This is something I would highly recommend to build a connection with your prospect. After the money talk, this is the message that the prospect will remember you for.
Do not try to rush through this process. Take a day even to send them the proposal if you are not in a hurry. It is very important that you think from the prospect’s point of view and how they perceive the issues they are facing in their business.

These are the most important questions to ask your potential client during the discovery call.
🔸Brief me about your business
This not only gives you a quick introduction about the business, but also gives you an insight into the vision of the business from the client’s point of view.
🔸What issues are you facing?
This again gives a point of view of the client and could give you an insight about what you may not have noticed during your research about them.
🔸What prompted you to reach out?
This question gives you an idea about the expectation the client has of you when you come onboard. It also tells you how they perceive you and your social media presence.
It is important to build a connection during the call and empathize with them. The skill to “read the room” will come in handy here. Try to listen more than speak. Do not hesitate to ask questions that came to your mind while studying their social media and online presence. I would not suggest to keep this call short if you genuinely feel that this call could help convert. Your time and understanding is the most important thing you can give during this call.
