A 155 foot Ravana is being built at Sector-5 Shalimar Ground in Panchkula for this year’s Dussehra. The effigy, costing 25 lakh rupees, took 4 months to complete.
It will feature eco-friendly fireworks and will be burned using a remote control imported from China.

The meeting was chaired by Municipal Commissioner-cum-Deputy Commissioner Vinay Pratap Singh.

Of 10,903 street vendors registered in the city, only 3,595 are regularly paying the vending fee. As many as 7,308 vendors have fee dues amounting to Rs 75 crore. Nearly 2,352 vendors have not paid the fee even once.

As many as 1,40,227 voters out of the total 2,36,193 electors cast their vote at 230 polling stations in the Panchkula segment. Asrewali, Jaswantgarh, Toka, Shyamtu and Rattewali (west) villages recorded the highest participation. Out of 439 electors in Asrewali, 414 exercised their right to franchise.
