Press Statement by Atif Ashar on Bidar shootout

The recent shootout and robbery in broad daylight in Bidar is a glaring example of the failure of the Bidar Incharge Minister and the District Administration. More than 24 hours have passed, and yet the culprits remain at large, bringing shame and tarnishing the reputation of Bidar.

This horrific incident, in which two brave individuals lost their lives while protecting others’ hard-earned money, highlights the deteriorating law and order situation in the region. The Karnataka Home Ministry must take immediate responsibility and explain its inaction.

We demand that the state government swiftly apprehend the culprits and ensure they face the strictest punishment. Additionally, the government must provide adequate ex-gratia compensation to the families of the victims who have suffered this irreparable loss.

It is imperative that the people of Bidar feel safe and secure. We urge the government to prioritize law and order and ensure such tragic incidents are never repeated.
