दुनिया की सबसे साफ नदियों में से एक। यह भारत में है। #उमनगोट नदी, मेघालय राज्य में शिलांग से 100 किमी. ऐसा लगता है जैसे नाव हवा में है; पानी इतना साफ और पारदर्शी है।काश हमारी सभी नदियाँ ऐसी ही स्वच्छ होतीं।इतनी साफ़ और पारदर्शी नदी को बनाये रखने के लिए मेघालय वासियों को दिल से आभार और अभिनंदन ।

With profound sorrow, we announce the passing away of Prof. S. Parasuraman, Former Director of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (16 August 2004 to 5 February 2018), earlier today.

Prof. Parasuraman started his career in TISS with the Unit for Child and Youth Research before moving to the Department of Research Methodology. During his tenure as Director, he oversaw the restructuring of the Institute, the introduction of several new academic programmes, and the transition of the Rural Campus at Tuljapur into a full-fledged Off Campus. Under his leadership, the Guwahati Off-Campus and TISS Hyderabad Off-Campus were also established.

Prof. Parasuraman has held key positions in international organisations, including Asia Policy Director, Action Aid International; Team Leader of the Secretariat, World Commission on Dams; and Programme Director, Oxfam GB, India Programme.

TISS deeply mourns his loss and offers condolences to his family.
