.... ✍️
In these days... Many Domestic Violence cases are coming in to notice which are been very complicated and hard to solve..
In most of the cases the victim is either from poor background or unaware of the legal rights.. Mostly a girl.. a wife.. a daughter in law..who is vulnerable in almost domestic violence cases. While hearing the grievances or complaints or the sad story which happened with them makes you much sentiment urging you to be involved to stand for such innocent women to provide counseling and justice any how...
Different types of issues related to violence Against Women presently we are dealing with, in 7 days of complaints at SAHA, by person & phone calls..in Berhampur. From which I want to write about one case study ..
1- A wife is left abandoned after given birth to a son, brutally violated and forcibly sent to her parent's house keeping her small child with husband and in-laws.. In this case husband has already in an extramarital relationship with an outside woman of other caste.. But as his parents need a child for a matter of offspring they forced him to marry a girl to give birth a child and for the need of work for their households. And she has been used as a Slave in inlaws house...neither she got her rights as a wife or daughter in-law. When she could know about her husband's extramarital affairs and asked..he started torturing her mentally, physically.. She been abused by him including inlaws brutally.
Anyhow she could stand up and fight for her rights even went to an woman counselor for legal help through a news channel... Though paid Rs.5000/ to that org despite of poverty.. But she didn't get justice there 🙄
In a recent Women's Day prgrm in a village she came to me and requested for help.. Since 2 years she is crying and trying in many ways to get back her small child from her in laws house but.. As they are rich and cruel their influence doesn't allow her to get her child.
She is under counselling and we are trying for her legal assistance in alliance with our partner Orgs and One Step Center.
Here I want to share few points... we know but we need to aware...
👉Every one must remember that, No Woman is a slave for your family.. She has self esteem, she has respect.. Once you bring your bride to your home as wife or daughter in law.. You should love her, respect her, give her rights and privilege her as your own not as an object to reproduce child or as your house mad. 🙅♀️
👉 Man: If you are in a relationship with another woman then.. Knowingly do not spoil any other girl by getting her married for the sake of your parents or caste or offspring whatever it may be.. You have no right to play with her life but I will say.. try to convince your parents to accept your relationship with that woman and get her marry. Or else stay silent and wait for their decision .. It's better to stay unmarried than to harash another girl..Bcz many men are there bachelor in such cases through life time 😊. You must not get into second marriage by spoiling someone's life. 🙅♀️
👉 Dear parents kindly know and inquiry details about that man to whom your daughter is going to marry or you have chosen any one for her. Never feel that your daughter is a burden for you.. Love her care for her unless you will not get a perfect groom for her never force her to marry someone else from such disturbing background.
👉 Dear girls stay positive, maintain self esteem, educate yourself enough to stand independent, be aware and never allow yourself to be played or tortured or sacrificed in someone's hand.
Raise your voice, Never be harassed or never give up your life, stand for your rights, seek for legal support in case you are victimized or abandoned.
Moreover before getting into any kind of relationship or any violence against you... Just be aware and be prepared.. Know your values.. Know your rights.. 👍
👉Lastly as a society... let's respect girls/women in providing them love, care, respect, safety and security. They may be our daughter, daughter in law, sister or sister in law, wife or mother or mother in-law. 🙏
Request to Administration, Police, Legal support systems, Govt /Non Govt Organizations, Individuals to help girls/women enabling them safety, security and their rights.. 🙏
