With profound grief DGBR and all ranks of Border Roads Organisation salute the supreme sacrifice of Spr Mahesh N Wali of 13 BRTF (7 Engr Regt) who laid down his life on 14 Dec 24 while operating a 20-ton rock breaker on the vital and strategic third Axis to Leh, the Nimmu-Padum-Darcha Road in Ladakh. His courage, dedication and devotion to duty while working on the treacherous terrain of Nimu Padam Darcha Axis at -20 °C will always be remembered and he will be an inspiration for future generations of BRO. We offer deep condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief. Mahesh is from Belagavi district Gokak taluka Iranatti.

Roller skating federation of India organised by 62nd Roller skating championship 2024 Belgaum district roller skating association skaters participate in this Roller skating championship 2024. 5th to 15 December 2024 Mysore, Bangalore & Coimbatore in this championship 30 state total 4500 + skaters participated. Belgaum skaters win 2 Gold, 8 Silver 1 Bronze medals total 11 medals.

Shri. S.L. Devarmani's Stellar Performance at the 6th National Senior Citizens Open Championship 2024
Karnataka's pride, senior athlete Shri. S.L. Devarmani, recently showcased his exceptional talent at the prestigious 6th National Senior Citizens Open Championship 2024 held on 8th December 2024 at Osmania University, Secunderabad, organized by the Healthy Senior Citizens Sports Association.

At 72 years of age, Shri. Devarmani, a retired Indian Defence Service personnel, continues to shine in the world of athletics, competing at national and international levels. His participation in this national event was nothing short of inspiring. He competed in the 1500M Run, 3km Run, and 3km Race Walk (all inside the stadium) events, earning the following remarkable results:

1500M Run: Bronze Medal

3km Run: Gold Medal

3km Race Walk: Gold Medal

These accomplishments add to his already impressive collection of over 400 medals earned throughout his athletic career since his college days. Despite his age, Shri. Devarmani continues to travel the globe for competitions, having visited countries such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, Sweden, Dubai, Malaysia, and Singapore in recent years.

As a retired serviceman, Shri. Devarmani now runs a small Kirana store in Chennamma Nagar, Belagavi. He expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Belagavi District Commissioner Mr. Mohammed Roshan and Cantonment Board Camp Belgaum CEO Mr. Rajiv Kumar for their continuous support and encouragement. He also thanked his Facebook friends circle, including Santosh Darekar, Avadhut Tudavekar, Padmaprasad Hooli, Vijay Bhadra, Sourab Sawant, Nitin Lokur, Om Anavekar, Sohum Anavekar, Shailesh Bhatkande, Sunil Dhongadi, Uday Kinjawadekar, and Kiran Nippanikar for their motivation.

Development works at Vaccine depot are being carried out. Recently Abhay Patil MLA South stated that they are planning to make a 100 seater movie theater there to watch old Hindi movies. If they could renovate existing sheds and make use of them would be wonderful said few Belgaumites.
