Former Chief Minister of Karnataka, SM Krishna, who is renowned for elevating Bengaluru's status on the global stage, passed away shortly after midnight at the age of 92. The distinguished politician, who held the position of External Affairs Minister, died at his residence in Bengaluru around 2:45 am. It has been reported that he had been experiencing health issues for some time.
His funeral will take place with full state honors in Mandya district Today. The Karnataka government has declared a three-day period of state mourning.
A pivotal figure in establishing Bengaluru as a technology hub, SM Krishna was born in Somanahalli, Mandya district, on May 1, 1932. He had a lengthy association with the Congress party before transitioning to the BJP towards the latter part of his political journey.
