Tragic Shootout at Bidar Currency Chest
A shocking incident unfolded today at around 11 AM at the Currency Chest of Bidar Main branch. Two Joint Custodians (JCs) from CMS agency, who had just withdrawn Rs 92 lakhs, were confronted by two armed robbers on a bike right outside the branch.
When the robbers demanded the cash box, the situation escalated rapidly. Gunfire ensued after the JCs refused to comply, leading to the tragic death of one JC, Mr. Giridhar, on the spot, while the other was wounded. The assailants managed to escape with the cash box.
Our thoughts are with the families of the victims during this difficult time. Authorities are currently investigating the matter. More details to follow as they become available
