Eighty-four artists from 83 countries started their journey of "Silk Road Artists' Rendezvous" this Friday by visiting the Archeological Ruins of Liangzhu City and Liangzhu Museum, in Hangzhou, capital city of east China' Zhejiang Province.This activity was part of the 1st Liangzhu Forum, aims at deepening civilized dialogue with the countries that jointly built the "Belt and Road Initiative (BRI)". Artists were amazed by the empirical sites of China's 5,000-year history of civilization, as well as the diversity and richness of China's history, culture and art. After the three-day immersive experience of Liangzhu, foreign artists will combine their own cultural vision with Chinese culture and use personalized artistic language to to accomplish the beauty of a cross-cultural integration and exchange between East and West.
The first Liangzhu Forum, with "Implementing the Global Civilization Initiative, Promoting Exchanges and Mutual Learning between Civilizations" as its theme, kicked off on December 3, 2023, in Hangzhou, the capital of East China's Zhejiang Province. The forum, co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the People's Government of Zhejiang Province and China International Culture Association, has attracted more than 300 international guests from over 80 countries.Foreign representatives of the six major International Alliances of Silk Road Cities participated in the forum. Tan Huism, the Executive Director of Qatar National Library and a member of the Silk Road International Library Alliance, said she believes that the prospect of the Alliances is bright because the members are eager to share and learn from each other and constantly create value for communities.
The first Liangzhu Forum, one of the key forums to support the higher-quality and higher-level construction of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), ended last week in Hangzhou, the capital of east China's Zhejiang Province.
With "Implementing the Global Civilization Initiative, Promoting Exchanges and Mutual Learning Between Civilizations" as its theme, the forum has attracted global attention with more than 300 guests from home and abroad.
Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the forum. "The ruins of Liangzhu ancient city are a demonstration of the 5,000-year history of the Chinese civilization and a treasure of world civilizations."
Representatives from the Silk Road International Theatre Alliance, International Museum Alliance, International Art Festival Alliance, International Library Alliance, International Art Museum Alliance, Tourism Cities Alliance, and international cultural and artistic institutions delivered speeches at the forum.

On December 6th, the Li Delun Music Foundation held a press conference at the Markham INFINITI concert hall, unveiling details about the upcoming “New Year's Concert 2024 - An East-Meets-West of Favourite Classics.”
Presented by the Li Delun Music Foundation, the New Year's Concert 2024 will be held on January 6, 2024, in George Weston Recital Hall, Meridian Arts Centre, Toronto. This musical extravaganza is set to be a highlight in the global “Happy Chinese New Year” series of events.
Apart from the Toronto Festival Orchestra, the performance of the 2024 New Year's Concert will also feature a choir composed of members from the Yangtze River Performing Arts & the Toronto Tsinghua Alumni Performing Arts Group, conducted by Shek Ko.
Li Delun Music Foundation was established in 2002 in Toronto as a non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of cultural exchange between the east and the west through musical events.

From November 6th to 12th, “Nanjing Week” held a themed art exhibition in Boston, showcasing the achievements of collaborative art projects, connecting international friendly exchanges and mutual culture learning under the framework of the “Smile Relay Campaign”.
Andy Bell, the head of the North Devon Biosphere Reserve in the UK, who co-sponsored the art exhibition, said that promoting harmonious development between humans and nature requires joint efforts, adding that he looked forward to encountering other animal friends in the future.
Rick Sommer, the Director of the Standford University International Program and the initiator of the Mathematics Summer Camp (SUMaC), signified that the “Global Passing on Smile in Nanjing” connects people from all around the world with common interests in this and effectively spreads the idea of “safeguarding the earth and protect the environment with joint efforts” by the means of cultural exchanges.
The United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, said that “meaningful, diverse, and effective youth participation is crucial for achieving sustainable development goals.”

Over 30 international organizations, cultural institutions, and artists engaged in the online global smile relay event by carrying out interactive and collaborative smile-theme art projects.
In 2023, a smiling angel, the Yangtze Finless Porpoise living in the Nanjing section of the Yangtze River, searches for partners who share the love with a smile.
The series of “Smile Relay, the Power in Culture” activities have displayed relevant works on social media to promote cultural exchanges and learning. They send online invitations on the overseas social media platform “Discover Nanjing” to encourage global schools, international organizations, cultural institutions, museums, and enterprises to get involved, hoping to raise public awareness of protecting biodiversity, building bridges for cultural integration between different cities, and promoting more sustainable development of the cities.
Young people from schools, international organizations, cultural institutions, museums, enterprises, and other related areas have released their works themed “animal smiles” with the tag Biobuddies on their own social media accounts, and offered their suggestions for ordinary people to protect animals.
