*DIG SKR flagged off Bharat Darshan Tour of group of students belonging to District Anantnag*.

Anantnag 09 Feburary 2024:

As a part of Civic Action Programme (CAP) of J&K Police, a week long Bharat Darshan Tour of 65 students along with 03 police officials as caretakers/guide of District Anantnag was flagged off by DIG SKR Shri Altaf Ahmad Khan -IPS.

In this regard an impressive ceremony was organized at District Police Lines Anantnag. DIG SKR *Shri Altaf Ahmad Khan-IPS alongwith SP Ops Anantnag Shri Furqan Qadir -JKPS, SP HQRS Anantnag Shri Sajad Ahmad -JKPS, I/C DYSP DAR Anantnag Shri Asif Mustafa -JKPS* flagged off the touring students. The other officers and officials of J&K Police were present on the occasion.

While interacting with the touring students, DIG SKR advised the students to avail the opportunity to enrich their knowledge by visiting historical places and marvels of the country. He advised the touring students to imbibe the greatness of the country, its unity in diversity.

The tour is being organized by J&K Police and all the boarding and lodging facilities including the Air tickets to & fro and other logistic support is being provided to the touring students. During the tour, the students will visit many historical places in New Delhi and Hyderabad.Parents and touring students applauded the efforts made by J&K Police for such an initiative taken and thanked Anantnag Police for providing them an opportunity to visit the popular cities of the country.

PUBLIC NOTICE *. Issuance of Ration Cards to left out registrants on e-SHRAM Portal.
In continuation to earlier communication under reference, all the eligible registrants of District Anantnag registered on e-SHRAM portal, who are not in possession of any ration card or are not yet enlisted in any existing ration card are hereby informed that Department of FCS&CA Anantnag is organizing a two (02) days' camp on 02nd & 03rd of February 2024 at Assistant Director Office FCS&CA Anantnag (Address: Khanabal Near DPL Anantnag) and at all TSO Head Quarters so that they may be covered under the ambit of NFSA.
As such, all eligible registrants who are presently without ration cards or are not included in any existing ration card are requested to visit this office or their respective Tehsil Supply Offices on 02nd & 03rd of February 2024 along with requisite documents viz Aadhaar, Domicile Certificate, Income Certificate & e-SHRAM Card so that their ration cards can be processed and issued as per norms.

Anantnag Police received an information through reliable sources that a family comprising Father, Mother and Son namely Mohd Ramzan Ganai S/O Gh Rasool Ganie, Shahzada Akhter W/O Mohd Ramzan Ganie and Zubair Ramzan Ganai S/ O Mohd Ramzan Ganie R/O Seer Hamdan Mattan under a well planned criminal conspiracy are continuously indulging in illegal trade of illicit alcohol as well as of cannabis charas powder. Reliable sources also revealed that the trio has concealed huge quantity of illicit alcohol as well as illicit cannabis charas powder in specially made hideouts in their residiential house, Swift Dzire Car, Baleno car and Motor Cycle. In this regard a Case FIR No. 04/2024 U/S 8/20,29 NDPS act and 48,50 Excise Act was registered in Police Station Mattan. A search team comprising of Anantnag Police and Executive Magistrate concerned was constituted who carried out the search of the house. During searching search party recovered about 9.27 Kgs of Charas powder and 867 Bottles of illicit alcohol which was seized on spot. All three accused persons were arrested ; Vehicles Swift Dzire, Baleno car, KTM Motorcycle and cash of Rs. 13325 was seized. Further investigation in the instant case continues.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding Drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in Drug peddling will be dealt strictly as per law. Our consistent actions against Drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of Drug Menace.

Medical Milestone: Successful Total Laryngectomy at GMC Anantnag

Anantnag, 02.01.2024 - In a remarkable achievement, the Department of ENT & Head and Neck Surgery at GMC Anantnag accomplished a groundbreaking cancer surgery on Mushtaq Ahmed, a 62-year-old resident (Name Changed) of Gulag bag Qazigund. Admitted on December 5, 2023, with voice changes and noisy breathing, the patient underwent a stabilizing Tracheostomy.

After comprehensive evaluation, he was diagnosed with advanced laryngeal carcinoma with cartilage invasion. On January 1, 2024, the patient underwent a six-hour-long Total Laryngectomy with elective Neck dissection (R), Hemithyroidectomy (R), and the placement of a voice prosthesis (TEP). The cost of the voice prosthesis, crucial for post-operation speech, was covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

This surgery marks a significant milestone as the first of its kind in south Kashmir, underscoring the advancements in cancer treatment at Government Medical College Anantnag. Over the past five years, GMC Anantnag has excelled in the early diagnosis and management of Head and Neck cancers through chemo radiation.

The surgical team, led by Prof (Dr) Sajad Qazi, included ENT specialists Dr Amir Yousuf, Dr Umar Shafi, Dr Salman Khurshid, and Dr Ehsan Ahmad. The anesthesia team, headed by Dr Zafar Ahmad Malik and Dr Khalida, contributed to the success of the intricate procedure, supported by assistants Riyaz Ahmad and Firdous Ahmad.

Acknowledging the commitment of the Department of ENT & Head and Neck Surgery at GMC Anantnag, special thanks were extended to Principal Medical College Anantnag Prof (Dr) Anjum Farhana and Medical Superintendent Dr Muzaffar Sherwani for their encouragement and logistical support. Dr (Prof) Anjum Farhana congratulated the team of doctors for successfully conducting the surgery and operating upon challenging cases, a milestone in itself, she added.

Dr Owvass H Dar, Spokesperson GMC Anantnag, emphasized the importance of examining any voice changes in elderly individuals with a history of ho**ah or cigarette smoking. The expertise and dedication of the senior faculty at GMC Anantnag ensure the provision of tertiary care services in the twin hospitals of Government Medical College Anantnag.
