*Tulip Garden attracts over one lakh tourists in 11 days*

*Expects record-breaking season*

Raja Syed Rather

Srinagar, Apr 02 (KNO): Over the past 11 days, Asia's second-largest Tulip Garden, in Srinagar, witnessed a rush of more than one lakh tourists, including both domestic and foreign visitors.

The Tulip Garden was opened to the general public on March 23 this year, and it witnessed a significant influx of tourists during the first week.

According to details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the garden, managed by Khan Mudasir, witnessed an unprecedented response from visitors within the first five days of its opening, with 105,861 tourists having visited since March 23.

He said this year saw a mix of both domestic and foreign tourists, with a significant increase compared to last year. While only around 1,500 foreign tourists visited last year, a total of 415 foreigners and 5,112 locals have visited the garden so far this year.

The officers informed that the number of local visitors has crossed the 100,334 mark, making the total count of visitors to the Tulip Garden this year reach 105,861.

Moreover, 100,334 tourists from various parts of the country have visited the garden within the past 11 days.

To enhance the visitor experience and reduce long queues, the garden management has introduced online ticket processing, which has been well-received by tourists.

To encourage educational visits, a special 20% discount on tickets has been extended to students until April 10, as announced by the contract overseeing the garden.

Visitors have hailed the government's efforts in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience, expressing satisfaction with the arrangements made.

Despite challenges such as pre-booked accommodations affecting travel to Kashmir, officials anticipate that the garden will surpass last year's record of 366,000 visitors. With tourist numbers at an all-time high, a further increase in visitors is expected after Eid, they said—(KNO)

Ensure Cent Percent AB-PMJAY & AB-PMJAY SEHAT Saturation By March 15, DHSK To CMOs

Srinagar, Feb 26 : -
Taking objection to the dilly-dallying tactics by the Chief Medical Officers’ vis-à-vis the saturation of AB-PMJAY & AB-PMJAY SEHAT schemes, Directorate of Health Services Kashmir in a fresh nudge on Monday directed the respective medical officers to expedite the process as to achieve the intended results by March 15, 2024.

“The UT Government of J&K is implementing AB PM-JAY & AB PM-JAY SEHAT Scheme from 1st December, 2018 & 20th December, 2020, respectively. Additionally has launched Universal Health Coverage (UHC) in the Union Territory aiming to provide financial protection and access to medical services for eligible beneficiaries. To achieve complete registration (100% Saturation) in all the districts of Kashmir Division, the Chief Medical Officers have been repeatedly asked to organize registration camps for Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries across Kashmir Division. The district-wise progress is available as an attachment to this circular, however, despite repeated instructions, and concerns have arisen due to a lack of substantial effort from some districts in achieving 100% Saturation. The Government takes this issue seriously and emphasizes the importance of Ayushman Card creation,” reads a circular, a copy of which lies with GNS.

“Furthermore, the Government of India launched the "Ayushman Bhava" and "Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra" campaigns to ensure optimal delivery of state-run health schemes, including those in remote areas, and achieve saturation for all eligible beneficiaries. Unfortunately, some districts have not utilized these Campaigns effectively to saturate registrations under AB PM-JAY and AB PM-JAY SEHAT,” the circular underscores.

“In the backdrop of above, all the Chief Medical Officers are time & again impressed upon to ensure complete coverage for all eligible beneficiaries under AB PMJAY and AB PMJAY scheme by March 15th, 2024. Failure to achieve full saturation will result in strict action under relevant regulations and the same shall be reflected in the performance of Officers,” reads the circular further. (GNS)
