Abhay K. is author of several poetry collections including Celestial (Mapin India, 2023), Stray Poems (Poetrywala, 2022), Monsoon (Sahitya Akademi,New Delhi, 2022), The Magic of Madagascar(L’Harmattan Paris, 2021), The Alphabets of Latin America(Bloomsbury India, 2020), and the editor of The Book of Bihari Literature (HarperCollins India, 2022), The Bloomsbury Anthology of Great Indian Poems, CAPITALS, New Brazilian Poems and The Bloomsbury Book of Great Indian Love Poems. His poems have appeared in over 100 literary magazines including Poetry Salzburg Review, Asia Literary Review among others. His 'Earth Anthem' has been translated into over 150 languages. He received the SAARC Literary Award 2013 and was invited to record his poems at the Library of Congress, Washington DC in 2018. His translation of Kalidasa's Meghaduta (Bloomsbury India, 2021) and Ritusamhara (Bloomsbury India, 2021) from Sanskrit, have received KLF Poetry Book of the Year Award 2020-21. His translation of the first Magahi novel Fool Bahadur has been published by Penguin India.
His forthcoming book Nalanda will be published by Penguin Random House in 2025.

Star Speakers AILF 2024 : Dr. Sonali Pattnaik
Dr. Sonali Pattnaik has a PhD in English Literature and is a multiple-award winning feminist poet, academic, professor of English and visual artist. She is the author of when the flowers begin to speak (Writers Workshop, 2021) for which she was awarded, the inaugural WE Illumination Award, 2023 and International Excellence Award and the book was featured in the prestigious Journal of Commonwealth Literature. She is the recipient of Panorama International Youth Literature Award, 2024, winner of the Orange Flower Award for Poetry in English, 2022 and winner of the Gifted Poet Award, 2023. Her poetry and art have appeared in several international and national print anthologies including The Yearbook of Indian Poetry 2022, Of Dry Tongues and Brave Hearts (New Delhi), The Kali Project (USA) and Madness: An Anthology of World Poetry (Nepal) and several reputed print and online journals such as The Hong Kong Review, The Book Review India, Setu, Femasia, Cafe Dissensus (New York), Dissident Voice, Muse India, The Bombay Review and so on. She is a well-published academic with book chapters and her paper on the film Omkara is recommended reading for the MA English syllabus in Mahatma Gandhi University.

Previously a UGC Junior Research Fellow, she is an alumna and former Lecturer in English (Permanent) at Delhi University and has taught Literature at several prestigious universities across the country, including, Miranda House College, SGBTKhalsa College (DU), Jai Hind College, SNDT (Mumbai) and St. Xavier's College, Autonomous, Ahmedabad where she serves as External Expert in the Board of Studies in English currently. Her book based on research on body politics in Bollywood cinema awaits publication from Orient Black Swan. She has been an advocate for a gender-just society for many years now and continues to do so through her art, poetry and activism.

She has been an invited speaker at several international and national seminars as an academic and several Literature Festivals as an author, including Mysuru Literature Festival, Asia Pacific Literature Festival, 2023, Ahmedabad International Literature Festival 2023 and Toshali Literature Festival 2024. She has been shortlisted for The Orange Flower Award for writing with Social Impact 2022 and the Wordweavers Poetry Award, 2021.

Rachana Yadav belongs to a family where Indian Culture has always been patronized and promoted. She is the daughter of Smt Mannu Bhandari and Shri RajendraYadav , two of the most eminent names in the world of Hindi Literature. From them she imbibed a keen interest in art and culture.

She firmly believes that culture is one of the strongest pillars of society, hence she has dedicated her life to promoting the rich Indian culture through classical dance and literature.

As a trained Kathak (A Classical Dance form of India ) performer,
She has presented her solo and group choreographic works in many of the major dance festivals in India as well as on many global platforms. Her choreographies have got her extensive critical acclaim and appreciation giving her a recognition as one of the leading Kathak performer and choreographer. She is a graded artist of Doordarshan and empaneled with ICCR.

As a part of this endeavor to promote culture, she also trains and teaches this art form to her students at her institute ‘The Rachana Yadav Kathak Studio’, based in New Delhi/ NCR. As the Artistic Director of this organization , Rachana also conducts workshops and lecture demonstrations .

In 2013, following the demise of her father Rajendra Yadav, celebrated Hindi author and editor, Rachana took over as the Publisher & Managing Director of HANS – the largest Hindi literary magazine in India, with a wide and diverse readership. Started by none other than the legendary Hindi author Premchand (1930), and revived by Rajendra ji ( 1986), Hans is not a mere magazine but an institution which has defined the trends in the field of Hindi literature. Rachana strives to ensure a continuous publication of Hans, with the objective of heralding its leading position as well as increasing its reader base. And to ensure that the contribution of Hans continues to be as valuable and more in the field of Hindi literature.

With her classical dance training and a literary background, Rachana tends to marry these two at times. Her choreographies use contemporary literary themes which are projected through dance. Mukul Kumar

Mukul Kumar is a bureaucrat, novelist and poet. He is a civil servant, belonging to the 1997 batch of Indian Railway Traffic Service. Presently he is working in the Ministry of Railways, Railway Board.

His published works include three novels, ‘As Boys Become Men’ (RUPA Publications), Seduction by Truth’ (Bloomsbury, India) and Aarzoo-Arshan (e-book), and three poetry anthologies, ‘The Irrepressible Echoes’, ‘Catharsis’ and “Rhythm of the Ruins”.

Mukul has been honoured with the National award for outstanding service to the Indian Railways, Bharat Nirman award for literary excellence by Bharat Nirman Foundation, and Poorvanchal Gaurav samman for his contributions to society as a bureaucrat and writer.
