We made a short Interview with Yoni Dagan a.k.a Libra for his upcoming release Tribal System on December 24th.
Q: Tell us about your upcoming release?
A: It's a two-track EP that I have worked on for some time and I'm happy to release it on December 24th.
the idea of the EP was to try and merge tribal rhythms with futuristic sounds.
Q: What's the funniest thing that happened to you at a gig?
A: Many bizarre and funny moments happened through the years,
one odd moment I remember was a few years back when I played at a club . .
while I was playing, people on the dancefloor were fully into it, with really good electrifying vibes in the air.
I played my most popular track and meanwhile, the DJ that was supposed to play after me had a guy plugin his gear for him while I was playing.
Just before the anticipated big drop when everybody was super excited and ready to explode he accidentally disconnected all the electricity of the mixer.
Q: What's your favorite VSTi?
A: basically I don't have a favourite one it changes frequently and I use a lot of different VSTi in each project depending on what I'm looking for, but if I need to pick one at the moment it will probably be Arturia's V-Collection bundle (it's hard to choose one).
Q: Tell us about 2 of your most memorable gigs?
A: if I can mention only two, one of them was the Jerusalem Street Rave. It was very special to me to play for so many people in the most complicated city on earth and to see for a moment how music can unite everyone.
Another one was on a Groove Attack's 10 years anniversary, the time was just perfect, the sunrise was so beautiful and the party was insane with great vibes.
Q: What is Psytrance for you?
A: In short, psytrance for me is home, It's the place I feel most comfortable to be in since the first time I was exposed to it until this day,
its a life journey filled with my memories and future adventures.
Q: What influenced you to start producing psytrance, and what influences you today?
A: Since the 1st time I listened to electronic music was curious about how to make this kind of sounds, so the influence was there all along just waited for the right opportunity to start exploring it,
my influences today are coming from many places and genres, from old school electronic music to movies & tv series soundtracks, to experimental music and the list goes on.
It helps me to be more versatile and it keeps me open-minded for new and fresh ideas.
