Lurdinha a lifetime of communicating the Gospel!
With deep regret, but with the certainty of the Resurrection, we announce that Lurdinha Nunes, a member of the Canção Nova Community, has returned to the Father’s house.
Lurdinha was a missionary who, since the age of 17, dedicated her life to evangelization, engaging in different areas of the Canção Nova Community. She worked in Rome during the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000, in the Brazilian Conference of Bishops (CNBB) in the area of communication and, in the Holy Land, she conceived and coordinated the editorial staff of the Christian Media Center for many years.
Lurdinha, as we affectionately called her, battled cancer for years, but always made herself available to the mission of spreading knowledge about the Holy Land to the world, both as editor-in-chief of the Holy Land News and in the Portuguese edition of the Holy Land Magazine.
Her love and dedication are an example of a woman of faith who trusted in Providence in all things.
The Canção Nova Community is deeply saddened by this loss and asks the Father of Mercy to grant Lurdinha eternal light and to give consolation to her loved ones.

* Jesus Christ in the red garments of the High Priest, with open arms.
Next to Jesus, Mary, to whom he consecrated humanity.
On the other side, Peter, to whom Jesus entrusted the Church, with the other Apostles.
