Big news and a new departure for Red Books. Tonight we met with four established local authors and created a new independent co-operative publishing house which will strive to produce quality literary content and experimental art.

The Red Books label will published future classics and definitive works. We will prioritise the authors artistic vision and avoid the stagnant and restrictive measures currently employed by some in the mainstream publishing industry, who seem more motivated by accountants forecasts and focus group trends than by achieving literary magic.

We are proud to have Wexford authors Tom Logan, Dan Finn, Daithi Kavanagh and Eamonn Colfer signed up to produce the first four Red Books publications this autumn. We will publish at least twenty books before the end of 2021 and already have fresh voices and dynamic writing talent lined up for next year.

It makes sense that County Wexford, the home of Banville, Toibin and Roche, should be the base for an independent literary renaissance and we are excited and honoured to be involved.

Jaco the Dancer and Other Stories by Eamonn Colfer available at Wexford Book Centre, Reader's Paradise and Red Books.
'Colfer’s vivid material has the ability to make you feel he’s taking you, and only you, into his confidence as he unfolds enthralling, eccentric and occasionally ribald tall stories.' (Jackie Hayden, Wexford People)
