Well that's it now, Christmas decorations are down and ready to be put away until next December. Time to get back into the studio now and plan the year ahead.
2024 has been the most amazing year for me, travelled to Spain with a stranger who's now a friend, Róisín, and met glass artist Ana Llavador and her partner JoseMarie there, tried some new techniques with glass but mostly just fell around the place laughing at each other.
There was a little holiday with grandkiddies which was fun...especially for them 😉 and then in November an unexpected trip to see Anna and Micheál in Australia, omg what an adventure, even managed to get in a little glass work too 🙈
I wonder will 2025 be nearly as exciting...I suppose that's up to me 😊

I love making these robins. They're very special and even more so at this time of year. I've lots available and I'm here until Sunday evening, storm Darragh won't stop these little guys from flying to their new homes. Well that's it, I'm in Sydney airport just about to board my flight back home to Ireland.
I'm going to miss spending time with these 2 'nut jobs'. I had an absolutely amazing time with and , thank you both so much and Anna 3 weeks together of fun and laughter, such a relaxing time 😊

This week Anna and myself visited Hyde Park Gardens and the Boticanical Gardens in the centre of the city in Sydney. All the flowers that we were busy dead heading and tidying up for winter 2 months ago are in full bloom here and showing themselves off beautifully.
And I don't know if it was planned from Sydneys inception but I think the high rise buildings work really well as a backdrop to the stunning gardens.
Most likely a happy accident and not everyone will agree with me either, but do I care 🤷‍♀️

This week myself and Anna went into Sydney to visit some of the iconic places. This was one of the first beautiful place in Sydney that caught my eye. The Anzac Memorial, a fantastic building remembering all those who have fought in battles and wars.

So my Sydney trip got off to a great start yesterday (Thursday) Day 1 was a lazy day, trying to recover the flights but day 2 certainly knocked the cob webs off me! We took a boat trip out into the South Pacific ocean from Sydney Harbour to see some Whales and Dolphins.It's the end of the season but we were very lucky to see a spectacular show of both Whales and Dolphins, well worth us being tossed around in a boat and drenched too 😀
Later we went for a meal in Tottis, and were nicely surprised when we were told that our meal and drinks were paid for by Merival the company that Anna works for. What a wonderful way to end a wonderful day ❤

On Monday afternoon the Mayor of Wexford, George Lawlor officially opened the Art and Craft Exhibition in Clayton Whites Hotel. I wasn't there myself but my neice was there to represent me. George had some nice encouraging words to say and after the opening he took the time to visit each of the artists and makers exhibition.
Kinda regret not being there now but either way Hannah did a great job 👏

Got my name in the local newspaper last week 😊
We're only a few days away from the start of my exhibition, Aqua Pura, in Clayton Whites Hotel Wexford. My studio at the moment resembles what can only be described as chaos, but as they say "it'll be alright on the night" 🥴
I'm sharing the conference lobby area with artist . Myself and Mary will be there from October 19th to November 2nd.
