We are delighted to announce the recipients of the New Voices Short Film Fund 2026, supporting original, new storytelling from emerging filmmakers in County Wexford. 🎬🏆👏
New Voices 2026 Awardees:
🎬 i dtrípháirt
Writer & Director Muirinn Ní Chárthaigh
Producer Jodie Fearon
'i dtrípháirt' is an Irish-language short film that follows three sisters as they navigate an unspoken grief, each in their own way, and together as a fragile harmony. While they struggle to cope with the emotional weight of their loss, they find solace in music and in each other’s company.
🎬 Ghost Tracks
Writer & Director John Higgins
Producer Elizabeth McKiernan
'Ghost Tracks' is a psychological horror which has elements of supernatural horror in its storytelling. Snatched glimpses of darkly malevolent shapes and shadows, fleeting movements across the frame and even jump scares will all play a part, but at its core, the director wishes to convey a sense of growing dread, the uncanny feeling that the characters, and indeed the audience, are not alone in this apartment.
Congratulations to both winners and teams - we can’t wait to see these films come to the screen! 💜
The New Voices Short Film Fund 2026 is a Screen Wexford initiative, delivered in partnership with County Wexford Arts Office and supported by Wexford County Council, Bodecii Film and Film Equipment Store / Hire.
