The Acoustic Yard Media and Events The Acoustic Yard was set up to promote songwriting with specialised events. No plans as yet for any We hope to add some more events in 2022.

Permanently closed.

'The Acoustic Yard' singer/songwriter sessions’ initially started up as a monthly event in Matt Molloy's Yard Bar in Westport in February 2014. The main focus was for singer/songwriters to have a platform to perform their own songs and for audiences to listen to original music in a relaxed environment. A key aim was to help to invigorate and stimulate songwriting and to supply an evening of enter

tainment. Due to the success of this event, the idea of 'The Acoustic Yard Singer Songwriters Festival’ was born, developed and took place in May 2016 in select venues around the town. The festival lasted 5 years until Covid curtailed it until further notice. We also have 2 radio shows The Acoustic Yard and Celtic Starfish on www.bluesandrootsradio.com and Yard Media has been set up to help songwriters get airplay and press.

The Acoustic Yard 5th Anniversary Concert

'The Acoustic Yard' singer/songwriter sessions’ initially started up as a monthly event in Matt Molloy's Yard Bar in Westport in February 2014. The main focus was for singer/songwriters to have a platform to perform their own songs and for audiences to listen to original music in a relaxed environment. A key aim was to help to invigorate and stimulate songwriting and to supply an evening of entertainment. The Acoustic Yard has been organising a festival every May and dozens of events in various venues over the last 5 years in Westport, giving a platform to local, national and international songwriters from around the world.

Organiser David Dee Moore has also recorded over 200 radio shows on www.bluesandrootsradio.com with his weekly programme on every Friday at 6.30pm. The station attracts up to a million listeners every week and has become a valuable outlet for emerging irish artists.

The Acoustic yard will be changing it’s look, structure and its content here for 2020.

We will be a conduit for new independent artists, with reviews, articles, recommendations, guest bloggers and supplying more information for artists and fans alike.
