Waterford has made history by becoming the Irish city to achieve Autism Friendly status at the AsIAm Autism Friendly Towns Awards 2025.

The awards recognise Irish towns and cities committed to autism inclusion and understanding. Killarney and Drumcondra were also honoured with Autism Friendly Town status.

We are very excited here at WMS this morning as we can finally let everyone know what we have planned for you all!!! This year we turn 10.....can you believe it, and to celebrate, we want to bring you a piece of each of our shows down through those 10 years. We plan to take you on a Musical theatre journey that began with a fairgound in small town Maine, and took us all the way to the bright lights of Beunos Aires!!!
Tickets available both online and at the box office of the Theatre Royal Waterford from Tuesday 4th March and are priced at €25.
We can't wait to see and entertain you all once again!

Meet our second fearless Abseil Participant – Ellen Power 🧡

“My name is Ellen Power; I am 28 and living in Ard Na Greine in Waterford or better known as the Top of the town 😂 I am very excited to be taking part in the abseiling challenge this year. Every year I always say to myself I would love to give that ago so here I am. I have never done anything like this before so I’m extremely excited about the challenge especially now that my friend Emer Grimes is going to do it with me, at least we have each other and it makes a little bit more special. I’m not afraid of heights but I am sure on the day I’ll have a few nerves. I think to be honest my dad will be more up in heap watching as he can’t even go up a ladder 😂

The Solas Cancer Support Centre means a lot to people especially to my family. When my dad got diagnosed with cancer the centre was a place of hope. We are so lucky that we have such an amazing service right on our front door. It has helped my dad and family so much. I was only a young girl when my dad first got diagnosed but looking back now, I don’t know how we would have got through everything without the Solas Cancer Support Centre and the amazing team. Words can’t describe how great they all are. So this year I wanted to do this challenge to say thank you 🧡

In January this year, I lost someone very special to me to cancer, she would be very proud of me taking on this challenge so this is for her and my amazing dad who is an inspiration.” 🥰
