Integlios - Seal Matrix.
I find it incredible that people were skilled enough to carve portraits in reverse in glass for a Seal. The one I found is so small (next to a button for size) I can't even see it, never mind carve it out and its so perfect. I'm making a guess at Georgian between 1740 - 1830 and guessing it's a garnet. Found with the Vortex, signal 71.

I have found 100s of George 3rd Half Pennies over the years, but as we know they haven't survived very well in the ground, so I bought myself a nice one so I can see one in all it's glory! 1799 George 3rd Half Penny - Bought :-) . -

I didnt find anything spectacular today, but my best find was a gift from someone at the dig. Its a trench art type cap made from a George 6th penny! I love it thank you

This weeks best find: Edward 1st Half Penny dated 1280 - 1281
Its unusual feature is that it is the ONLY hammered coin with one dot in each quarter, made for 1 year at the Newcastle mint 800 years ago which is why it is classed as Scarce.
I would be interested if anyone else out there had found a ONE DOT hammered like this?
