Modified Motors Magazine Modified Motors was Ireland's original tuning mag! In annual market share reports distributed by Easons, Modified Motors even outsold all UK imported titles.

Modified Motors was Ireland’s leading monthly tuning magazine dealing with all topics relating to the modified car industry. The magazine was set up privately in 2002 as a specialist motor title that catered for tuning car enthusiasts. After a very successful launch at a Dublin motor show the magazine went from strength to strength and was quickly bought by well known automotive publishers Page 7

Media. During this period the magazine grew to staggering heights consistently outselling all other automotive titles on sale in Ireland. The magazine was twice nominated for best consumer magazine at the PPA awards. Such was the success of the brand that a merchandise range of clothing, stickers, calendars and even a house music CD were created. In addition to this, Modified Motors Live was established allowing the publishers to bring the magazine to life by filling venues such as the RDS, Millstreet, Punchestown and Citywest with bespoke events featuring live action and Irelands best show cars. Sadly copy sales started to deteriorate in late late 2009. The economic downturn forced the majority of aftermarket suppliers out of business and thus killed a major part of the magazines revenue stream. In early 2011 Modified Motors put its last issue on shelf. It was a roller coaster ride for the team for 9 years and a product they are particularly proud of. In 2012 the magazine was sold back to the original creators and now sits with JKLM Media who currently publish Bike Buyers Guide, Rev.ie and the Grassmen magazine. Modified Motors might be gone from the shelf but it will never be forgotten.

We felt compelled to jump on here today to express our heartfelt sorrow to our friends at Drift Games and surrounding businesses after last nights tragic fire. Building a business and strong brand in the automotive sector is not easy but what the lads have done is not just revitalise but revolutionise the Irish car culture to the way we enjoy events and consume content in today's world. Know this, you will have the support to rebuild!

Now this one takes us right back to the golden era of the modified car scene in Ireland. When 100% Modified was all systems go, AutoTrader got the publishing rights to the programme. The thing is, they had no in-house modified car journos so in turn didn’t have the content to bring it together. In the end they turned to us and we penned the features for this stand alone programme. Ironically it’s a job we would go on to do for lots of promoters over the years.

After relaunching the brand at the Modified Motors Reignited show recently it is their ambition to once again see Modified Motors back on shelf!
