TIPPERARY PEOPLE! I know I have a decent reach to you all here so I’m asking for a small favour as Limerick Junction needs your help.

Unfortunately I just learnt that the council want to build a walkway through the backyards of the resident’s homes in Limerick Junction. This would an have awful impact on the security and privacy for these families.
The deadline to oppose is tomorrow so could really use your help to oppose this.
Please see the below.

Below is the text of the submission most of us are making. Thanks for your support!

I wish to object to the proposed project. I am strongly opposed to the proposal in its current design, especially with respect to the section of the proposed walkway route between Limerick Junction railway station and the intended connection with the N24.

That section of the proposed route would pass behind a large number of homes and would seriously impact on the security and privacy of those homes and of the people who live in them. It would be entirely unacceptable to have a public walkway adjoining the back yards of those homes. It would allow strangers to have very close proximity to children and to other vulnerable people. It would allow access for intending criminals to the rear of homes, in circumstances where the Gardai would not have vehicular access to the locations in question.

Multiple times per week, drunk and disorderly passengers are forcibly disembarked by Irish Rail from trains at Limerick Junction. Many of these people behave in a menacing way towards residents when demanding transport, phone charging etc. If the proposed project goes ahead, these people will have direct access to the rear of the residents’ homes. The residents are in the process of requesting a Garda Crime Prevention Report to be completed.

I make this objection in circumstances where I believe that there is a perfectly viable alternative available to the Council, that would allow the Solohead Memorial to Limerick Junction walking path proceed, without passing behind the homes in Limerick Junction. I believe that if the project proceeded behind the homes, and not along the alternative route, substantial amounts of public money would be wasted and I also object on that ground.

So I shot and edited this the start of 2022 in January, just as a fun mini edit, nothing major as I wasn't too happy with the footage bar the drone shots.
We were battling light with the short evenings so couldn't spend too long filming and needed to finish the walk.

Long story short, I got busy and didn't get around to posting it and then it didn't feel weather appropriate.

So now, FINALLY with this weather, I'm getting it off the hard drive and on to the gram!

Those DRONE shots of the Galtee's though, especially the last one of the ravine!! Hot dang!

I switched over to Davinci Resolve this year and this project was stuck in Adobe Premiere, I can thankfully say, I won't need to go near Premiere again! I also anyone on the fence, to make that switch.
This was also one of the last things I filmed on a Panasonic GH5, before I switched over to Sony fully.
That was also a much welcome change.

Just as I thought I couldn't get any higher up, my photography brings me higher. 🚀🚀
I always love looking back up at Galtymore from Tipperary town after I've hiked it.
It's a very surreal experience to look up at a mountain and see the place you were just a couple of hours before taking photos, feeling absolute amazing and soaking in the stunning views. ⚡⚡
It helps bring back that sensation even just for a moment followed by a mighty sense of achievement. 💥
