Polish powerhouse golfer Adrian Meronk is heading 'down under' on a high having finished top among the leading qualifiers to secure a full 2024 PGA Tour playing card.

Meronk, 30, posted a closing round of 71 to share 32nd place at the DP World Tour season-ending event in Dubai, good enough to finish top PGA Tour membership qualifier that will see him create more golfing history in becoming the first Polish born golfer to earn full PGA Tour playing rights.

He's been one of the most form players of the 2022/23 DP World Tour year, winning the Australian Open last November and then capturing the Italian Open in May before the bitter disappointment of not being picked for the European Ryder Cup team and then standing tall three weeks later winning the Andalucian Masters.

Before heading for Dubai Airport, and a 12,000 kilometre, 14-hour flight to Australia, he spoke of his delight.

"Earning my PGA Tour card has been a goal to mine since we found out we are playing for PGA TOUR cards. I'm very glad that I'm going to be playing on the PGA Tour," said Meronk.

"I played some tournaments this year, and gained some experience. I'm looking forward to it.

"So, very proud. Each year I'm progressing my golf, result, scoring average, confidence. It's very pleasing to be honest. Hopefully I can keep going forward and keep moving in the right direction and keep improving. But I'm very proud of this season and everything I've done".

Meronk is contesting this week's co-sanctioned Australian PGA Championship title in Brisbane and will head south to Sydney next week for his defence of the Australian Open.
