I’ve recently come to the conclusion that I possibly - almost definitely - have some degree of undiagnosed ADHD. It seems to be the sort of thing a lot of people my age are figuring out these days. Maybe it’s because the topic is everywhere now, or maybe it’s when a family member gets diagnosed, and you start connecting the dots. In my case, it was a little of column both, but the moment it really clicked for me was on a long drive to Wexford. I was listening to a podcast, and the way they described how the ADHD brain works, felt like the podcasters were speaking directly to me and the car ride was some kind of intervention...

On my afternoon walk with the dogs and thinking of two wonderful past longterm staff members, Kathleen and Sally, who both left this world behind them over the last few days. Sending love to the Kennedy and Delaney/Thompson families. Memories of them will live on in Roundwood.

Don’t ask me why we still measure Christmas trees in feet rather than metres. The process of converting from Imperial to Metric began in Ireland in 1980 and was officially completed in 2005 with some exceptions, apparently including Christmas’s tree measurements!

It’s hard to capture on video the number of swallows out flying today. Literally hundreds of them. A last feeding frenzy perhaps before they head to sunnier climes.
