His writing is incisive, illuminating and his depth of background knowledge has been classed as "Encyclopaedic”. John O’Regan currently presents “Eclectic Celt” on Limerick City Community Radio on Sundays at 2pm. The show as befits the title features Folk, Singer Songwriter, Celtic, Ambient, Traditional music and more,. It highlights talents both new and experienced and chronicles their careers and achievements
He has also made a reputation for informative CD liner notes and CD compilation. John O' Regan has written liner notes for re-issue albums by leading Folk/Roots/Rock/Blues/World Music artists including Ravi Shankar, REO Speedwagon, Taj Mahal, Eddie Cochran, Boz Scaggs, The Allman Brothers Band, Savoy Brown, Rick Derringer, Merle Haggard, Jerry Lee Lewis, John Martyn, Fairport Convention, Heart, Labelle, The Dubliners, Clannad, To date John has written liner notes for over 100 CDs. He also compiled at annotated “The Ultimate Guide to Irish Folk” released in March 2014 which has been described as “An amazing collection” by Bob Harris of BBC Radio 2 fame. John O’Regan has crafted a body of work that speaks volumes for his interest and passion for his music, and his articulation of same.

It highlights talents both new and experienced and chronicles their careers and achievements. New releases, classic recordings and guest live sessions and interviews also feature. It features new releases, Celtic Classics and rare material from the archives with live sets and interview slots with guests including Luka Bloom, Clannad, Fairport Convention, Peter O’Toole (Hothouse Flowers),John Oates (Daryl Hall & John Oates), The Oyster Band, The 4 of Us, Julie July Band, Martin Simpson, Johnny Duhan, Siobhan O’Brien, The O’Malleys, Eamonn Hehir, J Eoin and many more.
“Eclectic Celt” first emerged in 2014 presented by singer/songwriter Lu McMahon and John O’Regan. Lou McMahon a contemporary folk artist from Co. Clare, Ireland. 'Lou is one to watch' Danny McIlhinney ‐ The Irish Daily Mail newspaper. Lou is a published artist, her song features on 'Ultimate Guide To Irish Folk' a world release, and in 2015 she will release an EP & Album with ARC Music. Lou's has worked with influential Irish artists including Terry Woods (Pogues) and she was lucky to tour Ireland as Jack L's support act.
Since 2016 “Eclectic Celt “ has been presented and curated by John O’Regan. Lou now entertains on World Cruises with International Shipping Lines and also presents “The Cool of the Evening” on alternate Sundays on Limerick City Community Radio.
