We're very hyped to return to Limrock City for one of our last shows this year with this unreal lineup 😍

Big love to Wired 99.9FM for having us ❤️

Come throw nearly Christmas shapes with us, shuvup x

Huzzah!

Two bloody ruddy gig announcements in as many days, who the heck do we think we are eh?!

Next month we take a quick trip down to Limerick for the first time in quite a while, all thanks to the .a.s.a._lk crew who are kindly setting this one up! Really excited to play which is frequently hailed as one of the coolest venues in the country.

This particular Sunday special is an early doors gig with an early enough curfew so that nobody's getting into their bed too late so that everyone's nice and fresh for the week ahead. Very sound and considerate, which coincidentally are two things that would be rarely said about us.

Support from and .band and more TBA possibly?

Very cool poster by

This ranking is an interesting exercise, because we never know when a band is going to reform or at least revive the name and brand and ruin the notion that we’ve seen the last of them. But in the meantime...

Hey Everyone,

It is with a bittersweet heart that we write this, but today, we come to you with two very large bits of news. One good… one, perhaps not…

First off, we apologise for our high level of online absence the past few months. We’ve been working like dogs to try and bring some new music yer direction and you’ll be delighted to hear that we will be going full steam ahead with this and launching our EP in just a few months…
We are incredibly excited about this and we are lumping that into the positive side of Audible Joes newsworthy stories.

Unfortunately however, some positives may also have a negative and with that, we are now gona publicly drop the bomb on perhaps one of the worst kept secrets in cork at this stage… We’re calling it a day folks!!! 2023 will see Audible Joes play their final shows.

We’ve been a band now going on 15-16 years and we’ve had a lot of fun. The best time of our lives in fact. So to everyone who came to a show we played, helped us out over the years, bought our merch, listened to our music, and to all the amazing bands we've had the privilege to share the stage with, thank you all so much. You were all amazing!!

Like all good things, it is an unfortunate fact in life that they must at some stage come to an end. Between the four of us in Audible Joes, we've decided this journey must end this year. It is not a decision we've taken lightly, but it's one we have to make for the best of all four of us moving forward.

That being said, we still have goals to achieve and commitments we must fulfil before hand. So in typical joes fashion we’re going to have an all merciful blowout!
As stated already the dates you see above you will be our final shows. The biggest of which will be our EP launch in . We’d love to see ye there. So… for this final leg… come hang with these 4, not so young, but still quite handsome whippersnappers as we push the boat out one last time and embark on our final journey together.

We love ye all!

Let’s burn this thing down the only way we know how!
Thank you
AJ x

New interview with Niall

Niall Quinn of The Hitchers, Theme Tune Boy, The Pennywhores and one-time frontman of The Cranberries forerunners, The Cranberry Saw Us, marks his 50th birthday with a gig at The Kasbah, Dolans in Limerick on 10 March. We asked him the BIG questions . . .

NIALL QUINN IS 50 ...and won't get off the stage.

Some rent a sports clubs hall, make trays of sandwiches and hire in a DJ who'll play Rock the Boat. Some go on the holiday of a lifetime - Cuba seems to be a favourite.

Niall Quinn of The Hitchers, Theme Tune Boy, The Pennywhores long ago, The Cranberry Saw Us further back again - is doing a gig to mark his half century. The great majority of which has been spent in rocknroll.

Expect to hear plenty of The Hitchers with whom he drummed/drums, Theme Tune Boy with whom he sings and Half Man Half Biscuit whose songs he evangelises to the Irish. Then expect decks, drums and a proper p***y party.

It ain't all gonna be retrospection either. There'll be a new single to celebrate as well, it being long past time to crack on with some fresh meat. Details of that in due course.

💚

Good while since I attended a streaming gig, but tomorrow night (early Thursday morning) there's an unmissable tribute to Justin Townes Earle (1.30am Irish time). Would love to have gotten to the physical event - maybe next time. JTE is a huge loss to music, his fans, and most importantly, his family. All the proceeds from the night goes to a trust fund for his daughter, Etta. Please support.

The Specials were the soundtrack to the summer of my first year in college, and lots of other summers after that. There was a great party house in Tirellan Heights, with a few lads that were a couple of years older than me, the kind of good natured older lads that look out for ya. Great craic, and sound as f**k. We'd get day drunk and stoned and dance around the sitting room, listening to them on repeat. That summer sparked a lifelong love of the band, and everytime I listen to them, I always remember that summer. I was 18 and didn't have a care in the fu***ng world. It was beautiful. RIP Terry.

Really looking forward to this. Such a great line up. Paranoid Visions were excellent on Saturday. Fantastic night. Place was wedged.

**CANCELLED AS OF MARCH 10TH**

A line-up update,

Unfortunately due to unavoidable circumstance, Pontious Pilate & The Naildrivers have unfortunately had to withdraw from the upcoming Relapse Festival.

As a result Dublin anarcho-punk veterans Paranoid Visions will be headlining!

We will be sure to have Pontious Pilate and The Naildrivers for the autumn Relapse of next year and are really looking forward to it.

Furthermore, we have caved to the relentless abuse and added Easy Company as the final band on the lineup.

A reminder that tickets are now available on Eventbrite, this event WILL SELL OUT so we would advise grabbing tickets early to avoid disappointment,

We will also have an announcement regarding a January show in the coming week so stay tuned!
