Two years ago to the day, we began our ‘Christmas in Kinsale’ tradition with an intimate performance for 70 people in the Lord Kingsale with , and support from the fantastic ☘️

This Saturday, in our third year, we take the stage at the beautiful St. Multose Church in front of over 300 people – a milestone that wouldn’t be possible without Kinsale’s continued support.

Holly Duffy, 21, from Manchester, began her Irish dance journey at age 6 at her mother’s dance school. has since amassed over 100 Championship titles across the UK and Ireland, including placing 4th at the World Championships and earning British National, Scottish National, All Scotland, and All Ireland Champion titles.

Holly’s passion for choreography and teaching fuels her dream of opening her own dance school to inspire the next generation of dancers. She also has a strong interest in health and fitness, complementing her role as a Personal Trainer while pursuing qualifications as a Sports Nutrition Coach to empower young dancers to perform at their best.

Most recently, Holly returned from Anglo-Irish Productions’ first touring show, Dance Masters, where she captivated audiences in the leading role. This milestone showcased her versatility and stage presence as a professional performer, further solidifying her place in the Irish dance world.

CHRISTMAS IN KINSALE CAST ANNOUNCEMENT 🪕🎄

Dean Griffin is an award winning multiinstrumentalist from the outskirts of Killarney, a town situated in Kerry on the south west of Ireland.

Beginning with the banjo at 11 years old has cultured a virtuosic approach to melody while maintaining a respectful tip of the hat to traditional repertoire.

Despite his multiple accolades in Fleadh cheoils and competitions further afield than Ireland you are likely to find him playing a reel far too fast. Dean returns to Kinsale from his most recent stint with Dance Masters.

CHRISTMAS IN KINSALE CAST ANNOUNCEMENT 🎄🎻

Tomás Ó Dálaigh is a seasoned fiddle player whose performances have taken him across Europe, China, and the USA. He tours extensively with his band Over The Bar and is also a regular performer in Ireland as a member of Sin A Deir Sí.

Throughout his career, has shared the stage with iconic figures such as Martin Hayes and Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin. He’s held residencies at Disney Springs in Orlando and in notable venues across Ireland. In 2020, Tomás released his debut solo track N95, collaborating with prominent names in the Irish music scene. His unique style and dynamic performances continue to captivate audiences around the world.

CHRISTMAS IN KINSALE CAST ANNOUCEMENT 🌹

Kate Heneghan is a fiddle player, harpist and pianist from Castlebar, Co. Mayo. Kate graduated with a first-class honours Masters in Music Composition from Ulster University in 2021, with her research focusing on the life and music of renowned 17th-century harper-composer Turlough O’Carolan.

Kate Heneghan Music is constantly in demand as a musician both nationally and internationally. She has toured and performed worldwide throughout Europe, the USA, China, Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand and Fiji. Her musical collaborations have ranged from classical ensembles to folk groups, showcasing her versatility as a musician.

Coming from a well-known traditional-music family, Kate epitomises the significance of the Irish cultural tradition. A passionate music teacher, Kate co-founded Westport Scoil Cheoil which is now recognized as one of Ireland’s premier music summer schools. Kate’s love of music also saw her share her ‘Sunday Morning Melodies’ with the Midwest Radio listenership. Kate is so excited to be a part of the cast for “Christmas in Kinsale” this year!

As the first leg of our first touring production ends, we are filled with gratitude and pride for what we’ve achieved.

From consistently delivering outstanding performances to perfecting the little things—being punctual, tidy and fostering a positive culture—you have set an incredible standard. These small actions have a big impact, and we are so proud of the team spirit you’ve created.

To those cast members who won’t be with us for the second leg, we are grateful for your contributions and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

CHRISTMAS IN KINSALE CAST ANNOUNCEMENT 🎄

David, a 21-year-old Irish dancer from Clonmel, County Tipperary, has dedicated much of his life to mastering and celebrating the art of Irish dance. Starting his journey at the age of seven, has risen to extraordinary heights in his career, achieving unparalleled success on the competitive stage. His accolades include winning every major title in the Irish dance world, notably securing TWO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP titles, four All Ireland titles, seven Munster titles, and numerous other prestigious awards.

David’s passion for Irish dance is deeply rooted in its traditional style, a form he treasures and continuously strives to preserve. Equally, he is an ardent admirer of traditional Irish music, which complements and inspires his performances. For David, dance is more than competition—it is an expression of culture and a connection to Ireland’s rich heritage.

Looking to the future, David dreams of sharing his knowledge and passion with others by opening his own dance school. From completing his first stint with DANCE MASTER, he can’t wait to rejoin for this Christmas spectacular.

As the cast settles down for a well deserved day off, we can finally sit back and reflect on the 6 week whirlwind that has been.

Firstly we want to give huge credit to our cast, who have shown true professionalism and put their best foot forward every night! We are constantly editing and building the perfect show, and their patience and determination during this creative process has been fantastic.

We would like to thank all the musicians brought in during the recording sessions, especially . This has been a quick turn around and everyone involved has worked above and beyond to get this show to it’s opening night!

Our appreciation extends to and The Saile, Kinsale. The perfect combination for rehearsals! Your welcome hospitality is constantly flawless. We can’t wait to get back!

Lastly we wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for . After approaching us mid-August, we have loved the creative collaboration and are truly proud of the show which has received standing ovations every night!

We’ve only just begun!

Skibbereen, also known as "Dear Old Skibbereen", or "Revenge For Skibbereen", is an Irish folk song, in the form of a dialogue wherein a father tells his son about the Irish famine, being evicted from their home, and the need to flee as a result of the Young Ireland rebellion of 1848.
