As the European Parliament elections are tomorrow, it's crucial to remember the power of your vote 🗳️ Make sure to use your vote and support candidates who are committed to advocating for the rights and wellbeing of older people. "Nothing about us without us!"

🇪🇺 Active Retirement Ireland's manifesto, ‘Amplifying Older Voices — Empowering Older People in Ireland and Europe’, outlines our key asks for European Parliament candidates:

▪️ Fight Age Discrimination: Advocate for legislative protections, awareness campaigns, and intergenerational solidarity initiatives.

▪️ Ensure Secure Pensions: Promote income security and equality post-retirement with an EU standard for pension adequacy.

▪️ Protect the Right to Age with Dignity: Strengthen social protection systems, combat elder abuse, and create age-friendly environments.

▪️ Support Population Health with Active Ageing: Implement EU-wide positive ageing frameworks for better physical and mental health.

▪️ Guarantee Universal Access to Goods and Services: Ensure access to essential goods and services, including healthcare and digital connectivity.

▪️ Mainstream Ageing in Policy: Integrate ageing considerations into housing, urban development, and transportation policies.

▪️ Embed EU Structures for Policy Oversight: Establish an Independent Commissioner for Ageing and Older People to champion their rights in policy development.

🎼New Tuesday Afternoon Social Club - New Members Welcome 🎼

Due to the popularity of our Wednesday Social Club we have created a new social club on a Tuesday afternoon with live music and refreshments. Little Elvis will be performing and its a great way of spending a Tuesday Afternoon.

Our new social club takes place on Tuesdays from 1-3p.m. here at 25 Bolton Street, Dublin 1. It has been great to welcome new members into the club and we hope to welcome even more.
