📢 **Important Update for Our Members** ❄️🌨️

Due to the current Status Orange ⚠️ weather warnings across Kildare and Offaly tonight, our Edenderry branch will open at a later time tomorrow, January 8th, at 11am.

Our Coill Dubh, Leixlip and Clane branches remain closed.

The weather is predicted to be extremely cold with widespread severe frost, ice, and lying snow. This will lead to dangerous travelling conditions on roads and underfoot.

We understand this may cause inconvenience, but the safety of our employees and members is always our top priority.

Please check our website or social media for the latest updates before visiting.

Stay safe and thank you for your understanding.

Nollaig na mBan shona daoibh from everyone here at Eden FM Community Radio!
Nollaig na mBán (meaning 'Women's Christmas') takes place every year on January 6th, thus marking the end of Christmas celebrations in Ireland.
January 6th (or the twelfth day of Christmas) is also traditionally celebrated as the 'Feast of Epiphany' (or 'Three Kings Day'), when the three wise men brought their gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh to the newborn king.
The origin of Nollaig na mBán comes from the historical reality of housework being carried out exclusively by women. 'Women's Christmas' was therefore a 'day-off' for women nationwide, where the men in their lives would carry out all domestic tasks for the day.
Today, Nollaig na mBan is viewed as an occasion (or reminder) to celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of women in Ireland.
So, to all the women following our social media platforms (and beyond), put your feet up and relax into the New Year.
Nollaig na mBan shona daoibh go léir!

January has come in with a blast of cold air to wake everyone up 😊
Please remember to check in on your elderly neighbours to make sure they are ok. Mind yourselves while out walking or driving, especially if it is icy (or snowy!)
Don't forget the poor birds, the ground is so hard this time of year, throw them some nuts/seeds/oats and a little bowl of warm water.

Wise words from Su***de Or Survive ❤️

This time of year isn't merry and bright for many people; however, taking a few moments out of your day to practice affirmations can help shift your mindset to be more positive and self-accepting. 💙
