Dún Laoghaire set to paint own green with return of St Patrick's Day Parade

The much-anticipated Dún Laoghaire St Patrick's Day Parade is set to make a triumphant return this year, with St Patrick himself arriving on the LE Samuel Beckett Navy Ship at Dún Laoghaire Harbour to announce the exciting news.

Joined by Chief Executive Frank Curran and Councillor Jim O'Leary, Cathaoirleach of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council as well as Elected Members, St Patrick heralded the return of this beloved community event.

The parade, scheduled for March 17 at 11am, promises to be a spectacular celebration of Irish culture and community spirit.

Starting at Islington Avenue (Newtownsmith) and ending at Marine Road, the parade will feature a variety of groups including Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Eireann, Irish Coast Guard, Ukelele Hooley, Twilight twirlers, RNLI, Dún Laoghaire Tidy Towns, Goat Boat Tours, local sports clubs, dancers, and much more.

Pippa O'Connor Ormond hosts her fourth annual Blossom Tree Ball in aid of Childline by ISPCC

As guests entered the ballroom, they were serenaded by top London act The Function Band who kept guests dancing until late in the night.

The charismatic Brian Ormond was the MC for the evening with Barry Murphy on hand to conduct the auction.

International singer and songwriter Calum Scott made a surprise appearance and wowed the audience with his chart-topping hits.

Speaking about her time on the show Yasmin said, “I feel great and I improved every single week and I’ll miss getting my hair done!”

Over 530 students from 28 schools across Dublin have celebrated their graduation from the STEM Passport for Inclusion Programme.

They joined over 1,100 students from around the country who graduated from the programme at a series of ceremony Maynooth University and Microsoft Dream Space in recent weeks

The programme's innovative approach, which combines a recognised qualification (Level 6 NFQ), education supports, and mentoring from industry role models, provides a unique pathway for female students to progress to third level education and achieve a STEM qualification
